CHAPTER THREE: Types

1080 Words
Eva was still stuck in her position two minutes later even though their server was long gone and everyone had returned to their own activities. First, she was embarrassed at how easily she had fallen on a stranger's lap. Secondly, she was even more embarrassed at how long she had sat on said stranger's lap for. "Princess?", He called, his voice a little too close for comfort. It was however the boost that Eva had needed and she immediately jumped off his legs and ran as fast as she could in a club. She was out in a minute and gasping for air as she looked around her. "Oh God, why me?", She muttered, almost in tears as she made a painful realization. In her haste, she had run the opposite way and had come out of a completely different exit. She didn't recognize the buildings or her surroundings and had no idea where her car was. She tried Steph's number one more time but her phone was switched off and the call didn't connect. Eva was beyond frustrated. She couldn't even go to a hotel when she couldn't find her car that had her belongings and valuables. "Hey Blondie! How much for a night?", A man yelled as a car pulled over. Eva took a step back, realizing how dangerous her situation was. "I'm not interested", She said, looking away and hoping the man would leave. But he didn't, she heard the car door open and heard him begin to walk towards her. "Come on, what's a pretty thing like you doing here at this time? How about a hundred? I could do that for you", He told her as he approached, reeking of alcohol. Eva had nowhere to run to, her hands had begun to shake in fear but strangely enough, she didn't regret leaving Jake. She turned to the horrid man. "I told you already, I'm not interested in your disgusting offer, you piece of s**t!", She yelled. The man's already red face turned even redder. "You bxtch!", He spat and moved forward to attack her. Eva reflexively shielded her face but the hit never came. "You can open your eyes now, Princess", A familiar voice said. Eva did and saw the disgusting man in a heap on the floor. She looked up to find the intimidating man from the club standing in front of her. "Thank you", She whispered. "I think I'll take your gratitude in kind", He told her. Eva's eyes narrowed. "I'm not a p********e", She replied. "Princess, you're standing behind a strip club on an infamous street", He said, chuckling. "Stop calling me Princess!", She replied angrily. He laughed, his laugh deep like his voice. "You don't have to be so bothered, you are really not the type of woman I would prefer even if I was looking for a woman to spend the night with", He told her and turned around to leave. Something about him dismissing her greatly angered Eva. If someone else had dismissed her as someone they thought wasn't their type, she would have been very okay with it but she wasn't okay with him dismissing her. If he asked her why, she would have told him it was a matter of ego but the simple truth was that he made her legs quiver. He was the first man to make her feel that way but then she wasn't his type? "I don't intend to owe you", She said to him, stopping him in his tracks. He turned around and grinned as he shrugged. "You obviously have no other way to pay me. Don't worry, I'll just think of it as helping a damsel in distress", He told her, that smile that made her insides swoon plastered on his face. The strangest words came out of Eva's mouth. "I'll pay you in kind then". His face froze for a second and Eva could see that he was even more shocked than she was at what she had said. However, his face soon changed and it was almost as if she had imagined the shock on his face. "What are you talking about, Princess? Be very careful with your words", He eventually said, his words menacing. Eva only gained more confidence and stepped forward. "Stop calling me Princess and I'm pretty sure of what I said, I would rather pay you in kind than owe you in any way", She uttered, completely sure of herself. "Are you sure of that?", He asked softly. Eva saw something flash past his eyes. Was that reluctance? Pity? She simply nodded, scared that she might say more than necessary. At that moment, a Mercedes-Benz turned around the corner and stopped just by them. A man in a suit came out of the driver's side and nodded slightly at him. "Come with me then", He told her and got into the car. She rushed in after him and they set off. They were quiet most of the ride while he stared at her all through. The car eventually stopped moving and the door was once again opened. They were at a hotel, a pretty big and luxurious hotel and the staff seemed to know him. So he was obviously well to do and a regular at places like this. They were escorted to a suite room and as soon as they got in, Eva found her way to the bathroom while he ordered wine. Eva spent as little time as possible washing up, uncomfortable with all that she had led herself to. When she returned into the room in nothing but a robe, she found him by the huge windows that overlooked the city. He had taken off his suit jacket and was wearing just the black shirt underneath, his shirt, his hair and the night sky, formed a perfect blend that tickled her. He turned to her and just stared at her for a complete five minutes before he eventually spoke. "It's not too late to change your mind", He whispered. Eva nodded, he was right, it wasn't too late to run off. That was what her head was telling her but why were her fingers opening her robe. Why was she suddenly standing naked in front of him? "Oh", he muttered, his eyes fixed on her body. Eva took one look at his eyes that kept scanning her body at an alarming frequency and smiled, hadn't he said she was not his type?
