A shout in the dark!

572 Words
"Celia!" I yell, a shout in the dark. I feel physical and mental pain as I blunder about, Harris is leaned up against a tree nearby. Solemn and silent. I turn to him pleadingly. "We must go and find her!" I beg, "Please". "Back near your parents?!" he exclaims, "No, we should wait before going back, I am fairly sure your parents still want to rip your throat out-" "Harris-" "And possibly tear apart your spleen and various other parts of your innards" "Harris!" "Then they will probably cut all your limbs off and serve them up for dinner" He says ignoring me and I'm sure going slightly hysterical. "Then you go by yourself" I try to compromise. "Me?" he questions, "back there?!" he laughs, "to your parents", I slap him round the face. "You're an Alpha! So hop to it! They won't be able to overpower you!" I say forcefully. "You'd be surprised!" He answers on a more serious note. "Would I" My eyes tear at him frantically, the pain that was not inflicted on me, but Celia, still tearing at me. "Their pup just, in their eyes, betrayed them. They will be very powerful." "I can't leave it like this with Celia there" I stand to leave. "Celia might be dead!" Harris' reply shocks me, but I begin to walk in the direction of home. Is it home anymore? No, stop thinking like that! I tell myself. After walking a couple of paces, I collapse in pain, clutching my neck in the place where my parents had bitten Celia. I begin to shake, my hand still pressed to my neck, the last thing I see before blacking out is Harris' startled eyes and him running desperately towards me. I come to what seems like an eon later, in reality I guess it has been only a few minutes. When I look up no one is there. I scan my surroundings for Harris but he is nowhere to be seen. I am just walking over to the tree he was sitting at when I see a piece of paper with scribbled Biro on it. I recognize it to be Harris' writing and read it hesitantly. I am scared about what it might say, the letter reads: Dear Cara, Don't worry I'll be back soon, I've gone to find Celia. The only way you will be okay is if Celia is. So I'm going to get her. I pause reading for a second, confused as to why Celia's well being should affect me. Up till now I've assumed I was only in pain because I was upset. But maybe I should have looked into it more. I decide to read on: I think you will have figured it out by now, but you and Celia, you are connected. I will explain what I think happened when I get back. Don't freak out! Please wait. Harris. "Don't freak out!!!" I yell aloud to no one in particular, "Don't freak out!!!! What. The. Hell!!!" I scream. I direct my speech to Harris, "What the hell Harris!??! Connected!!! What on earth does that mean???!" I scream in despair. "Celia?" I mumble quietly, before lying on the moist, leafy floor in exhaustion and closing my eyes, yet even with how tired I was, my bones ached constantly, preventing me from sleeping in a cruel manner. Is this what Celia is feeling as well? I hope not.
