Prologue
A beautiful creature he was, right before my eyes. With elegant, magestic and undeniable beauty. An aura of authority radiated from him and he had a body built for a greek god. His eyes were as clear as the deep blue sea, filled with unconditional love, gentleness and warmeth affection, piercing through them. One could easily get lost in them. It was almost impossible not to notice him from across the street standing in all his glory dressed in some ancient warriors outfit.
‘Hmm he looks like a warrior from the movie Atlantis. He may probably be going to a geeky costume party or something’ I thought to myself.
Any normal person’s attention would get caught in the crowd of impatient men and women in their busibess attires moving in a very disorderly manner, moving to-and -fro.
He stood there. Silently in front of a dark alley that led out into the street.
His physique was impeccable and would make any human in their right senses see him as a man touched by god. I was never one to stare at guys in public but there was something about this one.
The large quantitative number of cars moving at high speed was really appaling and was begininng to cause me blury vision incurring certain difficulties in seeing the mysterious young man.
At that moment, It clicked. I realised that he looked really familiar. My head ached just tying to remember where I…where I knew him from. I gasped, his features were slowly disappearing and I still had not discovered who he was . He slowly started taking steps backwards. It seemed like he was lost in thought, drifted into nothingness, totally oblivious of his surrounding and the fact that a girl was watching him from across the street .
My heart began to ache. It felt like my heart reflected his feelings and emotions. He was somewhat pained and filled with sorrow, like he was grieving a death.
Tears threatened to spill out of my eyes.
“I cannot let him leave”I thought to myself. “I won’t let him leave, at least not yet”
From the position and angle I was standing; his features were fading by the minute .
No, he cannot leave now. Out of nowhere I heard myself shout without thinking “STOP!...S-STOP” I stammered. It seemed like he did not hear me, so I felt defeated
“H-hey” I muttered, more like, I whispered to myself.
That very moment, his head instantly snapped towards my direction with utmost speed and accuracy, all his attention was fixed on me.
Time stood still. The vehicles, people and even birds froze in time and momentum. I also froze under his compelling gaze.
All of a sudden, I sensed something was wrong, terribly wrong. His tender features began to fade. The face of the harmless man gradually morphed into one of a horrifying demon from hell, thirsty for blood. He’s initially light skin turned pale like he had been drained of every evidence of blood in his body. The sun rode along side and the sky was darkened. The once busy, crowded street was replaced in a thunderclap with a deserted street with no sign of life. Cars that were once moving at high speed had also stopped with no break or sound of halt.
It was all happening so fast but enough for my mind to absorb and sense danger ahead. Time stood still immediately he had turned his attention towards me, like we were both lost in time. One could think this to be a romantic event but on the contrary , it was a nightmare that seemed so real. He began moving towards me in a scary glitch frequency unknown to man. Everything around me looked like it was in an unrecognizable scientific state of slow motion and paused movements but yet there he was. The devil moved so fast defying the predominant state of motion. He growled several times making me extremely horrified causing me to develop what was called jelly-feet and weak knees.
‘Oh s**t!’ I stuttered
I started to plead for mercy from both him and God as his once love engrossed eyes phased into raging red and were afterwards engulfed in darkness which made him feel hatred, anger and the urge to kill and probably spill blood in the process. I could tell because it radiated off him like the scientific theory of osmosis. Did he hate me this much? Did he even know me? Did I kill his dog?
These questions flooded my mind.
With speed of lightening, he raced towards me. I looked around to find a place to hide but unfortunately there was none. I was trapped in open space with no hope of escaping. Such an irony.
He roared fearsomely loud. A cold shiver ran down my spine as he kept his blazing eyes on mine, taking steps closer like a predator. I couldn’t help but think that he could see through my frightened soul.
Oh goodness how will I get out of this? Is this the end? My end? Frozen and unable to move, he took that chance and charged towards me. I screamed.
One of his hands gripped my neck forcefully lifting me up and crashing my entire body unto the floor leaving me breathless with a few broken bones. The terrible pain I was feeling at that moment could not be explained as my right leg was twisted to the wrong direction.
This was it, this was the end, my end.
His body towered over me. He strangled me, cutting off my air supply. As if an instinctive reflex, I scream with the last breath in me as he slashes my throat with his claws…..GIDEON
