Venessa and Angela

932 Words
I pulled up to the bar and got out of the cab. I need to really buy a car. But you know, broke college student. I'm surprised I'm not living on campus. And even if I couldn't afford my apartment I would just move in with Paige. Her family is like filthy rich apparently, which I just learned last month. And no doubt Paige would love to have a roommate. I walked in and looked around to see not many people were here. But there was enough to make it seem crowded. I smiled as I saw Angela and walked over to her. "You wear that to a girl's night out," I whispered in her ear as I walked past. She looked up at me as I sat down and slightly smiled. She waiter brought us four shots and two full glasses of something. I gave a confused smile as he handed me mine and walked away. I looked forward to see Angela grabbing a shot and downing it. "What the f**k-you're pregnant!" I yelled as I took the glass out of her hand. She laughed and shook her head. "I might have lied about that. I just wanted to get you out here," I couldn't help but stare at her and roll my eyes. I could feel her eyes on me and in the back of my head I felt...that just maybe... never mind. I nervously chuckled and scratched the side of my head, "well, ugh, is your husband actually out of town?" She downed another drink and I couldn't help but slightly lean forward again, the thought of her being pregnant still lingered in the back of my head, but I had to remember she wasn't. She sighed as she put down the glass. "My husband and I are taking a break. Indefinitely," my face dropped a little as I slowly put my hand on hers. "Angela, I am so sorry," she shook her head and I squeezed her hand. "I am more than happy to come out and spend time with you and make you feel better. You don't have to lie about it," she looked up at me and there was something in her eyes that looked familiar. It was the same look Dr. Morgan had in her eyes when I was in her office. "Never thought I'd see you again," my heart started racing as I heard her voice from behind me. I turned my head to ironically see Dr. Morgan. But she wasn't talking to me. I looked forward to see Angela staring straight at her. I turned back around and Dr. Morgan's eyes were glued to Angela's face. The music was playing in the background making this situation even more...I don't even know the damn word for it. Her hand was on the back of my chair and I could see her knuckles turning red. "HI, Venessa. Surprised to see you here," I said, trying to break the awkward silence. She slowly pulled her eyes away from Angela and looked at me. A smirk grew on her lips as she tilted her head. "Venessa?" Angela said as she squinted her eyes in confusion. "Seeing as she would not tell me her name, I thought it was only right to give her one," I said with a smile on my face. Angela slightly smiled back at me as if I was an innocent puppy. She looked back at Venessa and that smile turned into a snark. "Is there a problem, Mrs. Moore? Or is it just Ms. now?" I could see how pissed Angela was getting by the twitch in her hand. Clearly, there is or was some type of history between them two, and although I'm a little interested in what that is, I would rather stay out of it. "What, you've been keeping tabs on me? I thought you would be too occupied with your 'patients',?" "Well, at least I'm not trying to screw someone younger than me because my crusty husband didn't want me anymore," "Yeah, you just like to screw younger women because you are a sadist who loves bending and manipulating young girls. And the only reason you do it is because deep down, you know, no one will ever love you," I watched as Venessa leaned forward onto the table and grinned. "You did," Angela shifted in her seat and I could sense how much Venessa loved it. "You did love me, right?" She glared at her. "Biggest mistake of my life," she gritted through her teeth. Venessa just chuckled and stood up. She put her hand on my shoulder "Don't be naive Miss Wilson," she looked back at Angela. "She's just looking for someone to make her feel worthy," her eyes became dark. "It's pathetic," she let go of my shoulder and walked away. My eyes followed her all the way out the door. I turned back to the woman in front of me to see her messing with her hands. "Are you-" "I thought I told you to stay away from her!" I was taken aback by her tone but chose to ignore it seeing as this is clearly some type of crazy ex situation. Now, which one was the crazy one? I can probably guess who. "Look I'm sorry. I just-" "I'll see you tomorrow Olivia," she grabbed her purse and walked away. I groaned to myself. Not because I pissed her off but because I just wasted thirty bucks on a cab when I could have f*****g been at home stuff my face with ice cream.
