Healing takes time
Yes, you've read it right. Healing takes time.
Sometimes, we ask ourselves, "It's already months or years ago. Why am I still stuck in the past?" or "We're done already, so why can't I moved on?" or "Why can't I accept the fact that it already happened so I can't do anything about it?"
It's because, healing takes time.
Healing doesn't happen in just a blink of an eye. Or in a minute, or in 24 hours, or when you wake up in the morning. Yes, it still depends on the situation but mostly, it takes a couple of months or years. It doesn't happen overnight. So don't blame yourself that much.
We need to stop forcing ourselves to move on from what hurts us. I know that it's hard because what we all wanted was to heal and move forward. But trust me, you'll be better soon.
There are a lot of cases where people tend to drink liquor, smoke, do drugs, or self harm. All of those are examples of unhealthy coping mechanisms. Which is really alarming. That's why we, psychology students/med students are here to remind you all to seek for help if your coping mechanisms aren't effective already. If you're reading this, I wanted you to know that I am here, we are here for you. If you want someone to talk to, we are here. If you want someone to listen to you, we are here. Help is here. We are always here for you all.
I also wanted you to know that everything will be alright soon. Maybe not now, but soon. And when that time comes, I'll be the happiest and the most proud human on earth. I am so glad that you exist. So please, keep going. We are all here for you.
