A Hamilton playbill was in her hand and the tune, “The Election of 1800,” was inescapably on her mind. She wondered if American history would be different if Alexander Hamilton was on the presidential ticket. But such silly thoughts seemed inappropriate when the whole purpose of having Jeannie fly out from Dallas, Texas was to discuss “her predicament.” At least, that is how Jeannie described it.
