I felt at peace that night, falling asleep in his arms. Every worry that I had faded away, and I was back to feeling how I had before Kane had ripped me away from Brax. The sun was rising, and when we finally went to sleep, we spent most of the night entangled in each other's bodies.
When I woke up, Brax was gone. I knew that he would have had to go and tend to some pack business or something. I pulled myself up, grabbed a shirt, and put it on before heading to the door to see if the coast was clear so I could get back to my room without being seen. I opened the door and got a scare because Eve was standing on the other side of it with her hand up, ready to knock, scaring us both.
"I um", she clears her throat. "brax asked me to bring you some clothes".
I nodded, feeling a bit embarrass
