“Corin, I leave for one day and you nearly drown in the ocean.” I sat up in bed, my eyes widening when I heard Edwin’s voice. Were they back? And the way he was speaking to Corin, I had not heard any other worker or guard speak to him that way, or say his name without uttering ‘your highness’ before it.
“You’re supposed to be with Rowan.” Corin responded, their voices were slightly muffled because they were in another room. I looked around suddenly realising I was on my bed. Did he… bring me up here last night? I could not feel Rowan within the palace, he still felt very far away so I figured only Edwin had returned.
“Your father saw the news article and ordered that I come back here. What were you thinking?”
“I had guards.”
“You dove into the ocean by yourself.”
