I sat in bed having woken up earlier than usual when it was still dark outside. It was weird not being able to feel Rowan, though it did not feel how I thought it would. I did not feel like something was missing, it was like our pull had never been there in the first place which seemed strange based off of what I knew about rejecting a mate. There was supposed to be lingering feelings of something missing or something wrong… Was it different because I had had two mates? I hoped he was not hurt.
I climbed out of bed, not bothering to put shoes on before I made my way into the hall quietly. I jumped slightly when I almost walked into Corin who had been exiting his room at the same time and he was clearly surprised to see me.
