By midweek, the playful rivalry between Leo and Ethan had started to affect Isabella’s everyday life. She found herself constantly aware of their presence, whether she was in class, at the library, or simply walking across campus. Every glance, every smile, every teasing word made her heart flutter—and confused her more than ever.
During lunch in the student cafeteria, Leo slid into the seat across from her without warning.
"So, Isabella," he said, leaning back with his usual confident grin, "I’ve been thinking… maybe you should come to basketball practice tomorrow. I’ve got a new move to show you."
Before she could answer, Ethan appeared, carrying a tray of food.
"And I was hoping you’d join me for a jog after classes," he said softly, placing a bottle of water beside her. "I want to show you something I’ve been working on."
Isabella blinked, caught between the two of them. Her cheeks heated, and she tried to smile.
"I… I don’t know. I’ll see," she stammered, feeling her heart race.
Her friends noticed her distraction immediately.
"Isabella, seriously… you’re hopeless!" one whispered, laughing. "It’s obvious both of them like you, and you’re just letting them compete for your attention."
Isabella sighed. "I like them both… I can’t just pick!"
Later that afternoon, as she tried to study in the library, Leo and Ethan both arrived—separately, of course. Leo sat nearby, tossing a basketball up and down, shooting her teasing glances whenever he thought she wasn’t looking. Ethan chose a table across from her, quietly reading but occasionally catching her eye with a gentle smile.
By evening, Isabella felt emotionally drained. The rivalry, once playful and exciting, now felt overwhelming. She loved their attention, their care, their presence—but she didn’t know how much longer she could balance her feelings for both.
Walking home under the golden sunset, Isabella whispered to herself:
"How am I supposed to choose… when I care for both of them so much?"
Little did she know, the tension between Leo and Ethan was growing too. Both boys were not only trying to win her heart but also subtly competing with each other. And as the days passed, the rivalry would take unexpected turns, pushing Isabella into situations that would test her heart, her patience, and her courage.
The battle for her heart was no longer playful. It was becoming real—and dangerous for her emotions.
