Chapter 1 – The Heart’s Dilemma
The autumn sun bathed Starlight University in a warm, golden glow. Students hustled between classes, their laughter mingling with the crisp morning air. Yet amidst the bustling campus, Isabella Cruz walked with a distracted mind, her books clutched tightly to her chest.
Today, her thoughts were not on assignments or lectures. They were two very specific people—the two most handsome, athletic, and irresistible young men in the entire university.
First, there was Leo Santos, the basketball star whose confident grin could melt anyone’s heart. Bold, daring, and impossibly charming, Leo had a way of making Isabella feel alive with every glance.
Then, there was Ethan Delgado, the track team captain. Gentle, witty, and always thoughtful, Ethan made Isabella feel safe, his subtle gestures and quiet encouragement touching her heart in ways she couldn’t explain.
Both were perfect in different ways, and Isabella’s heart fluttered whenever she thought about either of them.
She hurried to her first class, trying to push away the thoughts, but of course, her eyes wandered the moment the door opened.
And there he was—Leo, leaning casually against the doorframe, a mischievous grin on his face. He winked at her. Her cheeks flushed.
Not a moment later, Ethan appeared, jogging lightly in from the hallway, his backpack slung over one shoulder. Sweat from practice glistened on his forehead, but his soft smile made Isabella’s heart skip a beat.
The day passed in a blur of classes, stolen glances, and quiet heartbeats. Leo found every opportunity to tease her, brushing past her with playful touches. Ethan left her small notes in her locker, always saying the kindest words that made her cheeks warm.
By evening, Isabella sat in the quiet campus garden, the sun dipping low behind the buildings. Her phone buzzed.
A message from Leo:
"See you at practice later? I have something to show you."
A message from Ethan:
"Want to grab coffee after class? I need to talk to you."
Isabella stared at the messages, her heart in turmoil. Two invitations. Two hearts. One impossible decision.
She sighed and whispered to herself,
"Why does love have to be this complicated?"
And as the leaves rustled around her, Isabella realized that this was only the beginning.
