Chapter 12

The thought of Raidon's post never left my mind until the end of my shift and I was out of it most of the time, but luckily, I still did my work well.

Why am I even making a big deal out of this? It does not even mean anything.

I finally finished cleaning up the kitchen and I was packing my things when Michie called me.

"Raidon is looking for you." Michie said. I blinked and grabbed my backpack. I slung it on my shoulder and walked outside.

Sandra left early so I'm glad that Raidon came at the exactly when she left. As I walked nearer, Raidon noticed me immediately and waved. I smiled softly.

"Hey. What's up?" I said, gripping my bag with one hand.

"So... remember the doughnuts we were talking about last night?" He asked, smirking.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "Yeah. What about it?"

"I... accidentally bought too much because I was going to take some home and then, I decided to just give the extra to you." He handed me 2 boxes and my eyes slowly widened.

"Raidon. It's... This is a lot." I looked at the boxes of Krispy Kreme and then at Raidon.

"I'm not telling you to eat it all, dummy." He laughed and I playfully slapped his arm.

"I'm not going to, of course, but still..." I sighed softly and added, "Alright, I'll accept them. Thank you so much, Raidon."

Raidon's eyes slightly widened and he smiled, cheeks slightly turning red. I blinked at him.

"So... uhm... I need to go. I'll... uhm... see you tomorrow?" I said sheepishly.

"Oh. Yeah. Sure. See you tomorrow, Khi!" He bid energetically.

I bid Michie goodbye and waved at her and Raidon before leaving the shop. I was waiting for 15 minutes when my dad's car arrived. I hopped onto the passenger seat and fastened my seatbelt.

"A regular customer of ours gave us doughnuts because he accidentally bought too much." I explained before my dad can even think of asking where I got them.

"That's a lot of doughnuts." He simply said.

"Which customer was it?" I heard Reika asked, teasing. I raised a brow at her from the rear view mirror.

"I'm not telling." I stuck my tongue out at her and huffed.

"We need to get some groceries because your aunt asked us to do it. If you guys need anything else to buy, buy it already." Dad said as we drove off.

Mom was quiet behind me and I did not notice her at first because she was too quiet. I then realized that she was asleep and didn't even realize that I was in the car already.

A couple of minutes later, we arrived at a grocery store near our house. I zipped up my jacket again which I unzipped during the car ride because it was warm inside. When I got out of the car, however, it was freezing. I shivered internally.

I kind of hate this weather now. I wanted to take back everything I said when I love to experience winter season.

We went inside the store and got the stuff we need first. Then, I got some of the things I wanted to try. Reika and I separated from mom and dad because I wanted to check out the hygiene section.

"So... the doughnuts are actually from that customer, right?" Reika asked, voice teasing.

"Hmm... yeah. It was from him." I asked, scanning through the variety of hair essentials.

"And... let me guess. He only gave you those doughnuts. Your coworkers didn't get any." She nudged my side and I rolled my eyes.

"Ok. Fine. Yes." I gave up and grabbed a hair oil.

She squealed and kept nudging my side, "I love the comeback from your jerk of an ex, but I need to see what that Raidon guy looks like."

"I'll show you a picture later, but now... I need to look for a body wash." I said, giggling.

As I turned to walk to another aisle, Reika pulled me back and we went to the other aisle.

"What? Why? I was going to buy some body wash." I complained, raising a brow at her.

"Uhm... I don't think you'd like to see your ex and his ex shopping together." She said, placing her hands on her hips.

My eyes widened and I asked, almost to myself, "He... He's actually here?"

"He didn't tell you where he's actually going?"

"N-No. He didn't." I was still in a state of shock when I heard someone call my name.

"Khi!"

The voice was familiar and when I turned around, I saw Raidon. His smile was bright and he was waving at me. Before I knew it, Reika has left me alone and I watched Raidon walk towards me.

"Hey. You doing some shopping?" He asked once he was in front of me.

I smiled a little and nodded, "Y-Yeah. I'm... I'm with my family. What about... What about you?"

He's probably doing some grocery shopping, too, duh? I'm so stupid!

"Just grabbing a couple of things. My mom asked me to buy some things so... yeah." He scratched the back of his neck neck laughed sheepishly.

I looked up at him and realized that he is taller than I thought he was. Even taller than Jase. I swallowed thickly and opened my mouth to say something, but I stopped when I heard Jase's voice.

"I don't think I need this, Elle."

"Hush, sweetheart. You need to look nice for the meeting tomorrow. Also, you know? You should just fix yourself and forget about KC. Like seriously, honey. You deserve a mature woman. Not a child."

I flinched and subconsciously buried my face onto Raidon's chest. I felt like crying when Raidon placed a huge hand behind my back.

"Couples really. Do they really need to hug in a place like this? Seriously." I heard Elle say.

I sniffled and when I was sure no one was there anymore, I pulled away from Raidon and swallowed thickly.

"I'm sorry. I just... I really didn't want to see those people." I said softly.

"That's alright, Khi. Were those people... someone you know?" He asked, placing a comforting hand on top of my head.

I nodded, "Yeah. The guy is... my ex boyfriend."

"Oh. I'm... I'm sorry." He patted my head and I looked up at him, smiling.

"Don't worry about it. I'm good now." I said, smiling at him.

We stayed like that for a brief moment before I realized that maybe my parents are looking for me.

"I'm... I... I need to go. I'll... uhm... see you tomorrow, ok?" I didn't wait for him to reply and rushed to look for my family, avoiding aisles where Jase and Elle might be.

Once I found where my family was, we went to pay on the self checkout and went home immediately.

When we got home, I plopped on the bed and groaned. Then, my phone chimed with a text from Raidon.

Raidon: Hope the doughnuts make you feel better. :

I smiled at his message and replied to him. I sighed softly and looked out the window.

Me: They better be the snowflake ones or it won't make me feel better.

Raidon: They're the snowflake ones. I promise!

I smirked and decided to tease him.

Me: So you didn't buy too much. You bought them just for me. :0

I waited for his reply because the text bubble kept appearing one moment then gone the next. I giggled, thinking that maybe I have caught him. Finally, my phone chimed again.

Raidon: Ok. Ok. Fine. I bought one box just for you and the other one was really an extra so I decided to give it to you!

Me: Did I just caught you in the act? You know you can't level up to being my friend just because you gave me doughnuts.

I placed my phone down and decided to take a quick shower and do my skin care before dinner.

As I let the hot water drip down my body, I couldn't help but think about Jase and Elle. It was surprising and at the same time frustrating now that I'm willing to move on with my life, but... Raidon. He made me feel safe when I was about to breakdown.

What kind of s**t did I got into today?
