The First Encounter"
Chapter One – The Beginning of Obsession
Yona was an exceptionally beautiful girl—so captivating that anyone who laid eyes on her would find her impossible to forget. She was cheerful, kind, and full of life, adored by everyone who met her. But behind her smile hid a difficult life. She lived under the strict control of her father—a man tormented by anxiety and paranoia. Not abusive physically, but emotionally exhausting. He didn’t let her go out alone, nor did he allow her to continue her education. To him, the world was a dangerous place, and his beautiful daughter needed to be locked away from it.
His fear wasn’t without cause. Yona’s beauty was unmatched. Strangers often stared at her in awe. Young men followed her with nothing more than the hope of exchanging a word. But to Yona, her looks felt like a curse. She was exhausted by the constant unwanted attention, and more so, by her father’s suffocating rules.
The only light in her life was her mother—a gentle, loving woman who tried to ease the weight her husband placed on their daughter’s shoulders. Her mother was the only one who ever said "yes" to Yona, even if it meant going into debt just to make her happy. Because of her, Yona always dressed in the best clothes and smelled of expensive perfumes and sweet-scented makeup.
Yet none of that mattered to Yona. What she truly longed for was to live freely. She dreamed of experiencing life—of falling in love, like any girl her age. She wanted to explore, to learn, to feel the thrill of something new. But they lived in a small village where even stepping outside was a struggle.
Sometimes, Yona would sneak out to water the plants near the front door, using those few minutes to run to her friend’s house, just a few steps away. Her friend had a new phone—something Yona didn’t have. No internet, no device, no access to the world outside her father’s gates. Seeing the world through that little screen fascinated her.
One day, her friend made a bold offer:
“Come with me to the city. There’s a concert by a famous singer, and my uncle got me tickets. One of the girls dropped out—come in her place. Just ask your father!”
Yona’s heart stopped. No one had ever invited her to the city. She already knew her father would never allow it. But the idea of seeing the city for the first time, being at a concert, experiencing something outside the walls of her village… it was all too tempting.
That night, she came up with a plan. She begged her mother to tell her father that they needed to visit Yona’s grandfather, who had fallen ill, and that Yona had to come to help. At first, her father refused. But when he saw Yona’s face sink into sadness, he finally agreed.
Yona could barely hold in her excitement. She immediately told her friend the plan was on. They’d travel to the city together. But she made her friend promise never to mention Yona’s name around anyone—especially not her father.
Her mother left to visit her parents. But Yona? She left with her friend, heart racing, soul hungry for something new.
The city was everything she’d dreamed of—tall buildings, lights that never went out, people who walked like they owned the world. It was magic.
But then it happened.
As she was crossing the street, a motorcycle nearly hit her. The rider stopped with a screech, clearly angry. He got off his sleek, black bike, ready to yell—until his eyes met hers. For a moment, he froze, stunned by her gaze. He just stared, unable to look away.
Yona, wide-eyed and trembling, stammered,
“I–I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to walk in front of you. I’m new here… I don’t know the streets.”
Her voice, her presence, her innocence—everything about her pulled him in.
And just like that, the obsession began.
