The days before and after the end

An interstellar empire known as the Guild has been engaged in a cold war with the Grand Union of Planets (G.U.O.P) for over a century, but well known Martian battleship captain Madison Mowry is the only one to see the final amalgamation of the war--the eventual end of all sentient life in the galaxy. This horrifying realization sends him and his crew on a suicide mission to save the universe and all life within it.
