Diana
The elevator came to a halt on my floor with a ding. I stepped into the hallway, following the line up of the doors down toward my right. My door sat at the end of the hallway. I swipe the key card, my door open with a click. I enter the room shutting the door behind me. I take in the room, noticing the interior and how spaced it was. A king size bed in the center of the room pushing against the wall with a purple canopy above matching the bedding. The walls were painted lavender, and the lighting was soft. Everything here was suited for an omega. I kicked off my shoes and stepped onto the carpet. I squealed feeling the softness underneath my feet. It felt like clouds. I left my suitcase close to the door and hopped on the bed. This is pure heaven. The bed were lined up with cushions and pillows that were so soft. Scented candles sat on the bed side desk, scenting the room with vanilla which entwined sweetly with my coco scent. I curled up on my bed, exhaustion from a 6 hour flight hitting me hard. I fell asleep instantly.
I woke up four hours later. I glance at the wall clock. it's a few minutes past eight. I slowly stand up from the bed and pad over they suitcase. I drag it over to the bed, lying it on the carpet. I unzip the and pull out a hoody and some outdoor shorts. I grab a fresh scent patch (Scent patch neutralize scents and used by omegas so as not to attract unwanted attention)— knowing the effect of the one I was currently wearing over my scent glands had worn off. I grab my towels and bathrobe, my body wash and lotion, I set them out on the bed. Too lazy to unpack, I zip the suitcase and push it into the closet. I pad over to the bathroom, my bath materials with me. I take off my clothes and drop them in the hamper. i walk into the shower. After a quick bath and dressing in my oversized hoody and shorts, I put the scent patch over my scent glands. I grab my phone and head out, shutting the door and sliding my key card into my shorts back pocket.
I walk into the elevator. A couple of other omegas flood into the elevator clearly excited about the match up. There scents even though neutaralized fill the space entangling with mine.
"Hi" A small soft voice spoken directly to me. My eyes move to the owner of the voice. My green eyes meet bright doe brown ones. "Hi" I respond. Standing close to her, I perceive the dimmed lemon tart scent coming from her. That's very comforting.
She smiled brightly "I'm Grace"
"Diana" I return her smile.
"Did you arrive today? I arrived a week before. I've seen all the omegas on our floor. Room 10 right?"
"Yeah. i just arrived today. Room 10" I confirmed.
"You're gonna love it here. And most of the Alphas that arrived are quite the gentlemen"
I knew most people arrived earlier, just to get acquainted with the place. I'm surprised they've already been interacting with each other.
"That's comforting to hear"
"Yeah, And there Alpha guards stationed at our elevator outside so uninvited Alphas don't get in. Plus in the entertainment rooms, there are a few guards watching do things don't go wrong and make sure an Alpha understands an omegas No." she explained.
I nodded, taking on everything she said. Well they took a lot of precautions if that's it. "By the way, you scent is really sweet and comforting " Grace tells me
I smiled at her. She was very friendly and I already like her.
"Yours too. Lemon tarts are my favorite"
She grinned, her cheeks flushing red. "Thanks"
The elevator came to a halt at the grind floor and we stepped out. I followed grace to the back exit of the lobby where the real happenings were. We walked through a marbled pathway to the restaurant. There was also a sit out cafe like spot too. "This place is huge" I observe.
"Huge is an understatement. I once got lost looking for the volley ball court. Thankfully, a nice Alpha helped me back. Though I haven't seen him since then."
I noticed the little sad edge in her voice when she spoke about not seeing him.
"You'll meet him soon. The match-up is officially beginning tomorrow." We chose to sit out at the cafe. Grace ordered two cinnamon rolls and a matcha. I went beignets and a strawberry milkshake.
The conversation between us glowed easily. I learnt she wanted a pack to settle down with and she was very specific of them being well-off. Though she wasn't a gold digger but she's had some traumatic experience with a poor pack and she didn't want go through it again. She doesn't expect them to be very rich but she'd like them to be comfortable. I understood her.
"What about you?" she asked softly sipping her matcha
"I'm actually hoping to find my scent matched pack. I've gone through some things with my previous pack, they weren't ready to commit to a bond but they didn't hesitate to stake claim at every point. I want a pack who will not just claim me half way. i want a bond, a pack that cares and is emotionally available.
Grace stared at me for a few seconds. "Wow..first off, your former pack were assholes. I mean you're a totally gorgeous omega and i'm sure you took good care of them. How can they not want to bond with you?"
I shrugged.
"The Vance pack weren't ready to commit. 'There's still time'. They said. But I don't have that time. I'm not stupid and I know when I'm being led on. Plus they didn't deliver completely. Some part of me believes they were using me to pass time while trying to find there scent match.
"That's awful" Grace said, a genuine sadness washing over her.
"It's okay. I realized soon enough."
Grace rubbed my hand comfortingly. I smiled softly at her. The conversation rounded to things we loved doing.
As we talked, a set of people passed us. Two Alphas and a Beta. But something had my body stilling like rock. Their scent. Grace glanced at me noticing my sudden stillness. Behind me the trio had paused. A low growl drifted over to me as I felt glances on me
Then unmistakably, I heard Mate.
