Sweet Deception

CHAPTER 2

ANGEL's POV

We're in the cafeteria, but I feel uncomfortable. I can't even move because Zack is right next to me! Sino ba naman ang hindi kikiligin kung katabi mo ang ultimate crush mo, 'di ba?

Oh my gosh! I think I'm blushing because I'm so excited.

This is how we're sitting today: Zack, Me, Joza, and Tristan.

I saw James, Leza, Aira, and Tyrone at another table.

"Hmm! Parang sasabog na silang dalawa dahil ang pula-pula ng mga pisngi nila," Lexa said.

I really wanted someone to say something funny, but I sneezed.

"Let's go, guys, let's get our food," Zack said. He's really handsome, I can't deny it.

"Hmm... Angel, halata namang crush mo si Zack eh!" Aira said, teasing me.

"Also Joza. Their faces are both red," Lexa said.

"But Lexa, haven't you just met Zack? He seems to be acting like he used to," Joza said.

"Yeah! Now that Angel's here, he's not being as mean to us," Lexa said, looking right at me.

"Huwag kayong maingay diyan, baka malaman nilang gusto ko siya," I said, hoping they would stop talking about it.

When they got their food, they put it on our table. Zack even moved a little closer to me.

"Here, eat this. You need to get a little bigger," Zack said. I felt a little strange when his friends and my friends smiled at each other in a funny way.

I just didn't pay attention to them and started eating the food Zack gave me.

"Hey, slow down! You might choke," Zack said. I felt a little embarrassed, but I was even more surprised by what he did next. He touched my chin and lifted my face up so I would look at him.

"Look, you have food on your face," he said calmly. Then, he took a tissue and wiped my lip. I quickly looked away because I felt shy.

Lexa started sneezing. "So many ants, Ouch! They're biting me!" Lexa is so silly.

"Where? There aren't any ants," one of Zack's friends said to Lexa.

"Ang slow mo naman, si Zack at Angel ang tinutukoy ko!" Lexa said.

"You're just jealous because you don't have a boyfriend. Even the ants are getting some love, pretending to be bitten," James said back.

I wanted to laugh at Lexa, but I knew it would be mean, so I didn't.

"Stop eating so fast, you two, or you'll get sick before our next class," Zack said.

Tristan and Joza didn't seem to know each other; they didn't even talk at all. Tyrone and Aira were just eating. I sneezed. They really seem like they belong together. Looks like bagay sila, and parang same behavior din ang dalawang ito.
