The Dominant Teacher
Several months ago, along with thousands of other teachers, I was downsized. From the day I received my notice, I began to search for new employment.

My name is Carl La Rosa. I had graduated from one of the premier teaching colleges in the country. They produced more “Teachers of the Year” than any other school. As soon as I graduated, I was offered a job teaching 6th grade at an elementary school in Western Pennsylvania. That was six years ago. My teaching career was on track until the Federal Government withdrew much of their financial support for education. We received notice that our school was going to be closed.
