Faced with the malicious aura emanating from the Orc Shaman, Kain and his comrades felt as if their feet were glued to the ground, unable to move. Even raising a hand required immense effort.
Not only were they affected, but even the soldiers a hundred meters away were similarly paralyzed. Taking advantage of this, the goblin army broke through their defensive lines and began slaughtering the humans.
Seeing his soldiers being killed one after another without any means to resist, Kain and his comrades felt a deep pain.
Furious, Catherine raised her sword and shouted, "I'll kill you, despicable orc!"
The Shaman merely glanced at her indifferently before turning back to scold the goblin warrior, leaving Catherine swinging her sword futilely at the air, unable to move.
"How many times have I told you, Abalim? Use your brain. You must use your brain in battle," the Shaman said, tapping his head.
The goblin warrior lowered its club, looking like a student who had done something wrong, head bowed and silent.
"After all the effort I put into training you, what a waste. Go help your tribe," the Shaman ordered.
With a relieved howl, the goblin warrior turned and dragged its club toward the human soldiers.
After reprimanding the goblin warrior, the Shaman turned back to observe Kain and his comrades with interest.
"Don't worry. I'm always gentle with extraordinaries. I won't let you die easily. After all, my new experiments need some manpower."
Ignoring their expressions, the Shaman then returned to the hut.
"My lord Kain, I deeply apologize. It was my poor judgment that put you in this dangerous situation," Marcus said, filled with self-blame.
"Marcus, there's no need for such guilt. Though you agreed to this operation, the final decision was mine. If anyone should be blamed, it should be me for putting so many lives at risk," Kain reassured him.
"D*mn Shaman! If only my body could move, I'd cut him down," Catherine said angrily.
Her words made Kain start to think.
Normally, those of lower ranks can't break free from the suppression of a high-ranking aura, but Kain was different.
Over the past month, Kain had not only improved his strength but also made progress with his werewolf bloodline.
Since the day he was ambushed, Kain had been researching how to transform.
He constantly recalled the night of the attack when his werewolf bloodline was suddenly triggered as he fought the assassin. There had to be a key factor.
After numerous attempts, Kain finally discovered two elements necessary for transformation. First, he needed to be injured, even a pinprick would do.
Second, he had to feel anger or a desire to kill his opponent.
Combining these two points allowed for a successful transformation, and reverting was simple: he just needed to calm his mind.
Though Kain was armored, he had prepared a mechanism just in case.
He had hidden a needle inside his left gauntlet. A light tap on the back of the gauntlet would cause the needle to prick his finger.
With this in mind, Kain raised his right hand and painstakingly tapped the back of his left gauntlet.
Soon, a sharp pain from his finger signaled he had fulfilled the first condition.
He then looked at the battlefield a hundred meters away, where his armored soldiers stood like statues, unable to fend off the goblins.
Goblins surrounded each soldier, seizing their swords and hacking at their limbs, slowly torturing them to death amidst their screams.
Their leader, the goblin warrior, was more brutal, crushing immobile soldiers into pulp with a single blow.
Unable to contain his rage any longer, Kain felt white fur sprout from his arms, spreading across his body and even his face, while two fangs extended and sharp claws pierced through his gauntlets.
Empowered by his werewolf bloodline, Kain felt his strength multiply, and the suppressive aura loosened its grip on him.
He yanked his sword from the ground and charged toward the goblins slaughtering his soldiers.
"My lord," Marcus and Catherine gasped, realizing Kain had broken free from the suppression.
Moving like lightning, Kain appeared beside the goblin army in an instant.
As the goblins stood in shock, he swung his sword, unleashing several platinum-colored sword beams.
The beams easily sliced through the goblins, spilling their innards before dissipating after killing dozens.
The pungent smell of blood filled the air, and the goblins' eyes finally showed fear.
They screamed, dropping their weapons and fleeing in all directions, while Kain cut through them, leaving a b****y trail.
The goblin warrior, however, showed no fear and ordered his simple-minded kin to stand and fight.
But in a race like goblins, who prey on the weak, no one heeded his command.
Angry, the goblin warrior grabbed one of his kin and hurled it at Kain's face, but Kain easily dodged and ended the goblin's life with his sword.
"Yaa-woo, goo-woo~" The goblin warrior seemed to be warning his kin that fleeing would result in the same fate.
Finally, the surrounding goblins stopped running and gathered around him, trembling as they held their makeshift weapons.
As the goblin warrior rallied his kin, Kain approached.
This annoying human had first injured him and then killed so many of his kin. Enraged, the goblin warrior swung his club down hard.
"Clang."
Expecting to crush the human into paste, the goblin warrior was shocked when Kain caught the club with his strange claws.
An overwhelming strength flowed from Kain, and with a flick, the goblin warrior's club was flung to the ground.
Even a "smart" goblin like the warrior couldn't understand how the human, who had been unable to withstand a single blow before, had suddenly become so powerful.
Fearful, the goblin warrior retreated, trying to distance himself from the terrifying human.
But Kain gave him no chance to escape. He raised his claws, infused them with power, and in an instant, tore off the goblin warrior's head.
The surrounding goblins were paralyzed with shock, sitting in place as their bodies involuntarily released waste.
"Human, you are truly bold to kill my carefully trained extraordinary," the Orc Shaman said as he leisurely emerged from the hut after the s*******r ended.
