29 DEX The next morning, I lean against the weeping oak and watch the pups play. Or rather, I listen to them. Outside of journeys into magic mirrors and the occasional use of Wulfhelm magic, I remain blind. It’s easy enough to picture the scene, though. The late morning sun will be casting everything in intense shades of green, blue, and brown. The young pups scamper around the weeping oak. The older ones race through the woods as they hunt up a meal. The elder shifters fill in for Taryn. I’m not sure the pups even notice that my beta is gone. I suppose that’s a testament to how much time Taryn and I spent together. I miss him. And there must be a way to get my beta back. Grayson and I just shave to come up with it.
