Chapter 2

630 Words
There was a stillness in the air as he opened his eyes. His eyes felt like he had not slept in a long time. Even his body felt weak. Like when you had not eaten in a day. Even with these ailments, he found his way to his feet. Looking around he found himself in a wooded area. No one was there. Trees were all around him. Yet he could not find a hint of sound. He moved a bit to his right and then all at once sound fell on him. It made him stagger backward for three steps before he found his footing again. His legs then carried him further to his right as the sound of running water filled his ears. As he walked through the thick wooded forest the smell of it filled in his nose. His wolf which had been silent for a long time came out and took notice. The feeling of him moving around in his head almost stopped him in his tracks. But as he had moved into where the ground was also dense with flora and the sounds of an active forest. His legs carried him further towards the water. While he moved in the warm forest air he took in the sight and scents all around him. Soon he broke through to where the water was coming from. Above him to the right was a massive waterfall. Its waters flowed heavily down to where he stood splashing into a clear blue pool of water. There by the water sat a woman with her long blonde hair braided and pulled back. She wore a crown of flowers on her brow. Her gaze was towards the water watching it move around her. Her gown was long to her ankles and was white cotton. Right near her was a wolf lying down. The wolf looked familiar to Kingston though he found it hard at first to place where he had seen it before. He felt the power coming from the woman and found himself unconscious falling to both his knees. He bowed his head. His mind raced and then he knew who she was. She was the Goddess and she was going to now make judgments on his actions. " Rise Alpha Kingston. Rise and explain why you do not follow my laws?" She said in a strong, clear, and loud voice. He stood on his feet a bit unsteady. He took a deep breath as he faced her. His heart seemed to beat in his chest which was odd being that he was dead. But his body was still functioning like it did before. " Goddess, I know that I did not live my life as you decreed it. I tried my best to do as my father had wanted and to make sure no one in my pack could be harmed. I was scared if I failed to do as he wanted they would pay for my choice." " So following what he wanted was more important than playing out the role you were supposed to play? Was allowing your mate and children to die so you could live a life of a lie worth it? " She asked him now meeting his eyes. Her face was solemn as she looked at him. " Did you fail to learn nothing?" " Goddess...I wish I could take back all my actions against my mate. I hope that Elizabeth has been able to forgive my actions. I know you must punish me. But I do hope that she was not held accountable for my actions. " " No, She was held accountable only for hers. Her judgment has since been dealt out." She said her voice not giving away how she was feeling.
