Small Town Romance

Anna's POV I open my eyes to sun beaming in though a small c***k in the curtains, i looked at my clock it was already 10 am. I get up and get dressed slowly, I was glad that it was summer junior year was exhausting to say the least. I head down stairs to the kitchen and grab a banana before I go tend to the animals for the day. I really loved tending to the animals. "Oh Anna I forgot to mention you will be showing the new ranch hand around and help him out until he gets the hang of things." my father said rounding the corner to the kitchen, I nearly choked on my banana. "what new ranch hand, and why do i have to do it?" I asked irritatedly. " His name is Travis he will be here in a half hour, he will be working here for the summer to pay off his debt for crashing into one of our back fences, taking a quarter mile of fence down in the process of trying to escape before he got stuck, and you know the animals and area better than most that's why your doing it." my father replied. I rolled my eyes in my head but agreed with a smile. " fine, but I'm headed to the barn send him there when he gets here please dad?" I said. he shook his head in agreement. I walk out to the barn to start my daily chores when I'm greeted with my best friend and favorite horse Starfire. I give her some scratches and love before I feed and water her and the other horses and clean out their stalls and freshen it up. While I was cleaning out one of the stalls I hear a deep, sexy southern accent from behind me " do you need any help with that ma'am?" I turn around and see this handsome 6 foot 3 inch tall muscular dirty blonde blue eyed guy standing in the stall doorway. " no I can manage, you must be Travis." he smiled and nodded, and man that smile was the sexiest thing I have ever seen. I quickly shake my head from the intruding dirty thoughts, anyways I don't have time for stupid guys who seem to always break your heart for no good reason at all, I will pass one that. "Why don't you get started on the other animals and I'll be there in a minute." he nodded and walked off. finally I can concentrate.15 minutes ago by and I'm done and heading towards the other animals when I see one of the pigs run by me. I catch the pig and bring it back to it's pin and see Travis trying to catch the others. he looked funny and cute trying to catch them with mud all over him from the times he fell. "Need help?" I asked while laughing my a*s off. " I can manage." as he looked up and winked. I rolled my eyes and caught the rest of the pigs and locked the pin. he stared at me in disbelief.i laughed and motioned him to follow me. I headed to the goats and smaller animals and showed him how to feed and water them without letting them out. by the time we were done it was 2 pm, " wanna go back to the house and grab some lunch?" I asked trying to be nice. He agreed and we went back up to the house, my dad made us some sandwiches and lemonade already on the table for us. my dad was getting older and his health wasn't that great and my mom had died a couple years back I decided that I was gonna do most of the outside work while he tended to the house chores and bills and deals with other ranchers. we sat down and ate and I told him what else needed to be done and we headed there.
