Luckily for me, one of Daejon’s patrols came by and broke him off me. I probably would have let him consummate our bond before he even marked me. Now we were currently back in the village and standing at the front of the grey house that belonged to him, Hinda and Deva.
“You want me to move in with you already? Jumping the gun, are we?” I raised an eyebrow at him.
“Etana…” He growled out.
I rolled my eyes. “Stop being so surly. How do your sisters feel about this?”
He huffed. “It’s not their-“
“Stop being an ass!” I shouted at him.
Daejon’s face was flat. “I didn’t ask them.”
“See, was that so hard?” I asked trying to hold back a smile from the look on his face.
He took a few steps forward to pin me between him and the front door. “If you weren’t my mate, I would have killed you already.”
I nodded. “I’m sure. Daejon…were both still naked, and I can feel your shaft against my back.”
“And?” He leaned down to inhale my scent again.
I fought the urge to melt into him. “I told you. When I feel the full bond, we can advance in this game of ours.”
Daejon nodded against my neck. “I’ll take the little victories then.”
I rolled my eyes. “Like what?”
“I can smell your arousal, dear mate.”
f**k.
I was sold out by my own body this time.
“Whatever, aren’t you going to introduce me to your other sister?”
He nodded and pushed open the door. Right there was Deva and a girl who looked identical to her with her hands clasped together. “Hinda, this is Etana. Etana, this is Hinda and you already know Deva.”
Deva put her hand over her mouth. “Etana, he…already seems like his old self…thank you…”
I smiled at her now crying face. “Come here.”
I broke away from Daejon to collect her into a hug. Even though, I was really small compared to the other Dire’s in human and wolf form the twins were even smaller for seventeen-year-old selves. Hinda leaned in and got in on the hug too, seeing the difference in her beloved brother who saved them long ago.
“Can I move in with all of you? I mean if that okay?” I asked them.
Both bounced with their joy. “Yes!”
Deva grabbed one of my hands. “We always wanted another sister!”
Hinda grabbed the other. “We can share our clothes with you!”
“Don’t wear her out, girls.” Daejon said before going to his room to get some clothes on.
For a few hours, me and the twins talked about everything. It was fun and exhausting. I never thought I would be here. In this nice house, with two friends, and my Mate. While talking, I could feel the bond growing stronger, and it was starting to affect my head. So, I decided to ask about it.
“So, can you two tell me what happens when a Dire finds their Mate? I know about Wulfkin, but not much about your kind.” I asked, sitting up to give them my full attention.
Devan nodded. “Your kind, Etana. You’re not a Wulfkin, you’re a Dire, just a small one like us.”
“The first contact is where it begins to grow, like a first touch. It gets stronger every minute, until it’s fully formed with each partner being marked and mated.” Hinda said with a smile.
“Sometimes, the bond does things to the Mates. Like make them more possessive or aggressive towards specific people or just in general. It doesn’t happen very often, but I would be careful with our brother. He’s already got a protective streak, so don’t be surprised if he becomes naturally possessive of you. Don’t get angry with it either, he won’t know what he is doing isn’t right. Just handle it in a subtle matter.” Deva added in.
Hinda nodded. “Yes, oh and the longer the two waits to mark and mate the stronger the female’s scent gets. It’s a way of insuring her Mate cannot go a specific amount of time without marking and mating. Unfortunately, other males are not immune to the female’s pheromones. While you and Daejon work out whatever, be aware that other males might try to…”
“Mark and mate me?” I said finishing her sentence.
Deva nibbled on her bottom lip. “Yeah, it had happened before. It wasn’t a pretty outcome. That also might make Daejon a little more aggressive with males around you. His wolf will be ripping at him for the marking and mating to happen soon. If it’s not happening already. His wolf found its Mate before yours, so already you’re at a disadvantage with time.”
I groaned. “Crap.”
“Are you not worried about your age difference?”
I looked over to Hinda and raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
She looked down for a moment. “Well, your only a few months older than us, and Daejon is twenty-five. That’s a seven-year age gap. It doesn’t scare you that his wolf might want pups soon? Like really soon? Most Dire’s have a pup or several before they hit his age.”
I was about to have a heart attack now. “Can I get though the whole marking and mating thing before we talk about pups?”
Deva giggled. “Fine. Oh, we have ice cream in the freezer? How about movie night and ice cream?”
“Yes!”
