Prologue
Is she human or is she something more? A beautiful girl with medium length brown hair lined with beautiful shimmering golden streaks that sit in beautiful waves down her shoulders. Her eyes are like a field of sunflowers on a sunny day and a few freckles are placed across her perfect little nose. Her lips are a soft, light pink that sit so easily in a warm smile that makes her whole face glow. She stands five feet and a few inches tall, with the perfect hourglass figure. She is always dressed in cute dresses and high-heal shoes to make her look taller. Despite her looks, she is fierce and dominates the guys in her kickboxing class. She has a cute little golden paw print tattoo on her left ankle. She doesn’t know why she chose a paw print, it just called to her when she walked into the tattoo parlor on her eighteenth birthday.
Jezana Rayne is mostly an average human girl who grew up with her mother, Abigail Rayne, in a big city. Her mother moved them there after the passing of her father, Nikolai Rayne, at a very young age. She couldn’t remember much of her father or how he died and she only had one picture of him. In the picture he was holding baby Jezana, he was tall and handsome with a stern face, that had a small smile on it. His hair was black and he was dressed in black dress pants with a black button shirt. Jezana didn’t look much like her father, but they shared the same glowing sunflower eyes. She looked more like her mother who had brown hair and green eyes. They shared the same smile, nose, and perfect hourglass figure, but her mother is taller; tall for a woman. Her mother never talked about her father much and always hesitated when Jezana asked questions. Abigail hid a huge secret to protect her daughter. Soon Jezana figured it was just too painful for her mother to talk about and she stopped asking about her father.
Jezana always felt an emptiness in her that she could never quite pinpoint. She spent countless efforts trying to fill the void in her. She knew it wasn’t the loss of her father, but something more. What was this emptiness?
