Chapter 53

So we talked. Not everything, just the basic ones he needs to know before he step out of the Enchanted Forest. I had an urge to just tell him everything at all once, not just the rules outside but in general. To also lift the sudden feeling of responsibility out of me by telling him or forcing him to accept that this s hit is really happening. That he’s at the phase of his life now where he just wait for the time to tick, a sign of his death. But I don’t want to bombard him. And telling him feels like a pressure to him. He wouldn’t be able to enjoy every last minute if I’d remind him that. Contrary to what I want for him as he stays here. “So, there are four regions here. The Sidhe, which is ruled by the name Terran, Nixie by Deniz, and the last one... Alistair?” His brows furrowed. I don’t know what he thinks about it but I just nodded. “Yes... And my region, Faye region are the home of fairies.” “And those Little Fairies earlier, who are they again? They are so small but they looked scary, to be honest.” “Oh... Those are my right hands. Rin, Zah, and Tia. If you want to know which color, just ask them yourself. I’m sure they want to talk to you. Especially after slapping Rin on your first day here. I think she deserves an apology, am I right?” He scoffed. Humans have a strong memory, huh. He even remember the names of those three idiots and which region they belong. I didn’t go in details anymore because I want him to discover it himself. Those guys are not selfish, anyway. They would be willing to help him throughout his stay here. Well, I hope so. “Not after tying me,” his pride talked. “I can’t forgive you all. I was locked up! With no food. I guess slapping that dwarf is the best thing I have done yet.” I threw him a dagger looks. How dare he disrespect those little fairies?! And dwarf! They are small but they are not a f ucking dwarves! How can this man he so mean?! I groaned. “Those are fairies, not dwarves. They can also help you reshape your attitude. You sounded so mean and rude, huh. Is that how you act in your world, Nikolas?” “Stop calling me that,” he sounds irritated. “Why can’t I call you by your name, Nikolas? You can also address me with my name.” “Just... stop,” he said slowly. “I told you I had dreams about this place and you were included. Your voice just keep on ringing inside my head with that same voice in my dreams calling my name. Stop it, Rani Letisha.” “Then what do you want me to call you, then?” I ignored the dreams. I find it so creepy and I think those are again, probably lies. He can’t... Dreams, huh? And of all places, why my region? And why would he even dreamt of me? “By any chance, did you see my face in your dreams?” Silence. I asked because I am genuinely curious. If he’s lying, then I must just ride in. If not, still... I also want to know. Besides, having him face my parents will be the answer to my questions whether he’s making up stories or not. Either way, I still don’t know how to react, or how is it possible that someone like him had dreamt of us? Is there any connection? How? That’s what I need to find out next. I observed how his expression changes. Like he didn’t expect my question. I raised my brows at him. Why did he look so surprised? And why is his... Wait. “Your ears are red,” I noticed. “I am just asking you a simple question, yeah? Did you see me in your dreams, Nikolas? Was I calling your name? How does my voice sounds in your dreams now that you can hear it loud and clear, and in actual situation.” Tilting my head, I lick my bottom lip. He was far from me. He can’t see me clearly but I can. “You can see every bit of me from there while I can’t,” he whispered which made my forehead knotted. “I can hear you. Just answer my question. Did you see me in your dreams?” I waited for it to come. His mouth hangs open, then it closed and again, open. His expression changes, too. Like he wants to say yes but can’t bring himself to do so. Again, I waited. Minutes passed and he still can’t talk. I gave up waiting. “Never mind that. Just prepare yourself and later, we will go. Remember what I said, Nikolas. Don’t be stubborn and you are old enough to do what’s morally right and wrong.” “Yeah,” he talked, finally. “And to answer your question, no... I didn’t see you but I heard your voice. That’s why it sounds so familiar to me.” I paused from rising from my throne. I sat again, still curious to know about more. This human is irritating! Why can’t he just tell me everything and quit leaving a cliff hanger?! So annoying! It’s not like I have time to ask him a lot of questions so I can get what I want. “Ah, so I was like communicating with you through voice in your dreams. I wonder what it was all about.” Nikolas just stared at me. I almost laughed when he hide his face the moment our eyes met. He looked shy and... cute. Shaking my head, I faked a cough. Seriously, Rani Letisha. Why are you praising him?! “Well, you should get ready. I will call the Little Fairies to feed you first before I show you around. I still have something to do first before anything else. Stay here, understood?” It took him a second to nod his head. A sign that Nikolas doesn’t follow orders but then, he was left with no choice. “See you later,” I bid. “Well?” Terran’s face crumpled as if the idea disgusts him. Not really but it’s obvious that he didn’t like the idea of babysitting a grown up man. While Deniz, he seemed cool about it. Said he’d willing to entertain Nikolas and show him around while I do me. I still have to train. The Power of Glamour and my wings, I need to grow it. The challenge is not yet done and in order to completely prove myself not just in my region and our kingdom but to the universe itself, I want everyone to know how I deserve it. Training is to improve myself in many aspects where I lack. Possessing those powers that a true Fae must have will make these doubts and confusion go away and it would be a big achievement of mine and I can’t wait for it. Although the La Roi haven’t tell me if the Queen Mother agreed to train me. I doubt because she doesn’t want to come back in the Acres Kingdom no more since she decides to live. Well, the Queen Mother lives in between the Acres Kingdom and the city of Asbel. Her magnificent garden. “You know I still have to train so I can’t look after him full time. You guys are busy, that’s understandable but I also know you guys always find your ways to relax and enjoy despite the pressure and all I ask is for you to include Nikolas for the meantime. Like if you want to go and have fun, let me know so he can join you.” “Why are you so concern about him?” I looked past behind them to looked at Alistair. We are in our usual spot beneath these all large hamadryads trees. I asked them a favor... Not all the time I am there to entertain Nikolas, or to show him around the place. That’s why I am asking for their help because I felt like they’d feel a connection somehow despite our differences. “It’s natural to be concern,” I told him. “And I’m not asking you, Alistair. Don’t just butt in our conversation unless you’re asked.” His brow shot up. He stood there staring at me intently, with his arms cross. I rolled my eyes. I don’t understand why I liked him back then. Now I am annoyed whenever I feel his presence. “I can hear you loud and clear, Letisha. And you are in our our spot. That means I am also included whether you like it or not. If you want, you can freely leave and talk outside. I guess that’s the best thing to do, ain’t it?” “Even so, don’t just butt in.” “Relax, guys... You aren’t here to argue, right?” Our stares lasted for a minute before he withdraw first. I smirked and looked at Terran who talked. “I will bring him later. And don’t tell him anything about death now. We don’t want to scare him, do we?” He scoffed and slowly, nodded. “Alright.” I left the place and went back to the Enchanted Forest. There, I saw the Little Fairies facing Nikolas whose forehead were knotted. He looked irritated, while the fairies looked happy seeing his face. “You owe me an apology,” said Rin. “You dare to slap me! I can easily tie you again if I want to. I can make you suffer without lifting a finger!” “You deserves it,” Nikolas said firmly. “And you are so small I can easily slap you again so shut up, I am eating. Please give me peace of mind even just for today, will you?” “No!” Again, Rin shouted angrily. “Say sorry before you eat!” I hushed them. Their heads snapped on my direction. “Take your time eating, Nikolas,” I said to him. “And stop scaring him, Rin. Just leave him alone... for now.” They flew to my direction. I can see the disappointment in Rin’s eyes. She wanted revenge for slapping her. Well, it was hard... I felt like his world spin when he slapped her. “That man... I want to punch him in the face for slapping me, Rani Letisha. I need to get even! He can’t get away from it, right?” Shaking my head, I let them flew over my shoulders. “Eat slowly, Nikolas,” I reminded when I noticed him ignoring us, busy with his food. “And prepare yourself, alright. We will go outside of my territory and just remember what I have said to you to avoid conflict.” He just stared at me. No words came out of his lips even after we left him for a while. “Send him clothes,” I told Tia. “Make his stay comfortable. Whatever he asks, and if we can give it to him then, provide him what he needs of wants. Just... don’t bully him.” “No one is bullying him,” as expected from Rin. “We want the best for him, Rin. He doesn’t even deserve to be here, all humans didn’t have to go through this phase of their lives. We all know what will happen to him here so let’s just compensate. There’s nothing wrong with it, right?” I heard them sighed. I want him to remember that he was happy, at least before he leave the world. It would also make me feel guilt free knowing I provided him everything that he wants and needs but of course, with strict regulations and limitation. “He doesn’t seem worried, though,” Zah commented. If only they know how scared he was for his life. “Just... let him do whatever he wants. For his satisfaction, Little Fairies.” We all agreed. Doing a good thing is not a bad thing. I am choosing to be good this time. I want him to remember that he live a best life even if it’s lacking. “Alright, then. I will just get ready so we can show him around the place. Terran and Deniz will be there, too, to help him cope up.” It was great. To have them at times I need them.
