Chapter 29 - Main Tower

"In a place where there is freedom... Does that place even exist?" Deniz was frustrated. We were all walking side-by-side, minds were all in depths, thinking of where could be that place where freedom exist. The woman has given us clue and I wonder where it would lead us. An old person living in a place where there is freedom... The woman said he was the one who now carried the Power of Glamour. How did she know that? Do they have a communication? If so, then all we have to do now is to find that person. Looking up to the sky that was now turning dark, I sighed deeply. A place where there is freedom. I looked up to the sky. The only place where freedom exist is the cloud above us. People can fly high, but with the hunters on land ready to drag them down, I don't think it's a hundred percent free. Just like the bird, they'd suddenly fall down because of people who haunts them. Like what happened when we went to the Achlys. The one who guided us towards them, fell down and die while it was up in the air, flying. So, I really don't think there's a place with freedom. Even in our kingdom, it was only limited. All of us were bound to do at least one thing that is against our will. We were all slave in any way. A slave for officials, and sometimes, it was us who become a slave of our own. "Well, even the sky has no freedom..." I told them, averting my gaze from the horizons. "The sky is now covered in darkness. Don't you think we need to find a place before we think of anything else?" Everyone seems tired. I haven't eaten anything yet since day one other than fruits. My stomach was kinda upset because of it. Terran and Deniz gaze at Rosie, who later stood up from sitting in the bench that was slowly giving up. "Why are you two looking at me like that?" Her voice shook a little. "Look, I'm not your servant or anything, okay? I think my job here is done, Deniz." I just looked at them three. They seems closed, alright. It looks like Deniz often came here knowing that there were people who already recognized him. Rosie won't surprised us with her presence in the middle of the way if it wasn't because of his source. So, I guess a lot of them were familiar to Deniz and Terran, too. "C'mon, have conscience, Rosie," Terran guilt tripping her made me roll my eyes. "We are all friends here. You are the only one we knew here in the Chalice. Besides, we are your guests, so I think it's our rights to be treated nicely." Again, I rolled my eyes. I wanted to stop him but he was right. Rosie is the only one whom we trust here. She was the one whom I'd willingly put my trust with. A part of it... Not my whole trust. At this time, she's the trusted one. She took a deep breath. I lowered my gaze down to my pockets where the little Fairies were soundly sleeping. They are hungry, for sure. We have food but they didn't have an appetite, so they just fell asleep. Besides, it was really tiring. What happened in the Achlys and here, in the Chalice was exhausting. Nothing too much happened but all these things going around exhilarate me. And I know it wasn't just me. But all of us. "Gosh..." I heard her, so my eyes fall back to her. Running her fingers to her hair, she closed her eyes. "Just like the old times, Rosie," Deniz tittered which made her opened her kins. Rosie looked directly at him. Her eyes were void of emotions and tension filled the space between them. I wanted to get in their way and just told them we should go to find a place to stay the night. But then, I realized that my body was too weak for another round of walking. I felt like my eyes would sleep on me soon. Even my legs were about to give up, so I just stayed in the corner, sitting in the wooden bench to rest. I leaned my body to the back, feeling the hardness of the backrest, then before my eyes closed, I caught a glimpse of the bird flying in the air. "Princess..." I heard. Slowly, I opened my eyes only to be greeted by Terran's smiling face. With that, I closed my eyes, not wanting to wake up yet. "I'm still sleepy," my voice was hoarse. "I need to get more sleep." I heard her chuckled. "Alright, then... Just don't blame me once you wake up, princess. Keep in mind that I went here to wake you up, okay?" Again, I opened my eyes. Rubbing it, I quickly got up from bed which immediately sent me to a panic mode. The last time I remember was sleeping in the bench, not here in the comfortable bed with flowers around me. Wait... I stopped, then stared at Terran who was cooly standing at the end of the bed. "Where am I?" As clichè it may sounds, I asked him. "Ah, we're in the Chalice main tower," he answered gracefully. "You fell asleep in the street last night, princess. That became the sole reason why Rosie agreed to let us stay here for awhile, until we decides to leave to proceed with our main purpose." Realization hits my face. I calm down. "Alright..." I covered my mouth to yawn. Terran smiled at I glared at him. "We need to gather and start looking for that old person who has the Power of Glamour." "Okay. But first, you need to fix yourself." I followed his gaze when it went somewhere. There, I saw a new clothes resting on the table. "That was Rosie's. Get down once you're done, princess." Before I could even utter a word, he vanished and I was left, sighing as I lay down again.
