Chapter 18 - The Pixies

Thinking about what the Pixie has told us, it made me curious as f uck.

Empress... So, they really have a leader after the death of the previous queen of the Achlys.

It has been years since the Pixies' leader withered. My name didn't exist yet when she died in the arms of her sibling. Only the Queen Mother knows what really happened between the Acres Kingdom and the Achlys, or how they ended up loathing each other.

Why?

There were a lot of questions running inside my mind as we followed the guy. The history written in books about the two realms wasn't enough to feed my curiosity, a lot of details were missing and it hasn't answered my lists of inquisition.

Why did the ruler of the Pixies before go mad? Did the Acres Kingdom give her a reason to loathe us?

The story of the queen didn't end up too well. It costs her life, the Queen Mother's mum, and everyone who died because of the war that happened in the past.

I always wanted to seek the truth. Reading books wasn't enough to judge any of them. It will need a deep understanding and research, however, the one who knew everything didn't satisfy my curious mind.

The Queen Mother always chose to shut me down whenever I asked about it.

And even if I don't want to jump to conclusions, there was part of me that believes that it was something personal.

Of course, the reason behind must be deep. Yet I don't understand why people have left craving for answers when it was their right to know.

I know... A lot of people don't have any idea why the Acres Kingdom has to break into two. Why the fairies had to leave and build their own realm and rules.

Not knowing the whole story was enough reason for me not to hate the Pixies. One shouldn't base her judgment on books, or to listen to gossip.

No one can blame me. Even the Queen Mother has no right to question why my heart chooses not to hate the Pixies, even though everyone does.

"Rani Letisha..." Rin called, whispering. "Their Empress... Do you have any idea who?"

I shook my head. "I don't know who's who, Rin. We'll see her in a bit, okay?"

Every one of us was curious. Even Terran and Deniz were silently walking on both of my sides.

"I wonder who's their new ruler..." Deniz whispered. "It has been ages since I heard about the previous queen who withered. Take note, we weren't born yet at the time that she died."

"Well, we clearly don't have memories of the past..." Terran added and we all fell into silence.

My eyes roamed around the place. There was nothing special in the Achlys. All I could see on our sides were dark smokes and flowers that just died in dryness.

There were no other Pixies in sight aside from the two, but since the woman left without waiting, the only Pixie was the guy who guided us towards the Empress's haven.

The ground was too dry, too. It has cracks, there was no single house insight... It was as if the Achlys had no people.

It was empty and dark.

I expected the Achlys to be lonely. From the name itself, it was gloomy. A lot of people said that Pixies were nothing but a lonely bad fae, one who doesn't have life partners, and the majority of them withered with no one for them to cry.

Unlike the people in our kingdom... In every corner, you can see two people being in love and more.

It was something I wouldn’t mind seeing. Knowing that love exist in our realm, it made me feel at ease.

Regardless of their gender... It wasn't prohibited to commit with any s es. Only the directors kept on pointing it out and telling people it's against our rules when in fact, there was no written about such rule in our rulebook.

"This place is really creepy... I mean, as expected from the Pixies. After all, this wasn't called Achlys for nothing."

"Right, Deniz. Shut up... The guy's ears moved," Terran muttered and again, silence filled us.

Why is it taking so long? I wanted to ask if we were getting near but I chose to keep my mouth shut.

"I could see something from here, just Letisha..."

My head snapped at Tia who was flying in the air, looking at something straight from her position.

"Where?"

"You can only see it from here," she said. "It's a tower, just Letisha. I think it's where the Achlys is as I could see some Pixies flying in the air, too."

Oh, so... The ground we were walking on wasn't the real Achlys.

"Great... I think we'd be meeting the whole Pixies, princess. They're probably waiting for our arrival, huh."

And probably getting ready to attack us if we arrived unnoticed. Something that won't happen anymore.

Well, I hope so.

"Just be alert, everyone... We don't know what they're up to."

I knew they had allowed us to enter their place. But I don't understand why was it too easy for them to permit us to invade the Achlys?

Why? Aside from the fact that they knew it was me, the Rani Letisha of Acres Kingdom, was there any reason?

Or maybe I'm thinking too much again. I don't know... I just wanted to make sure as we weren't in our territory right now. We're in the enemy's place, in the Achlys where the Pixies settled after the war happened between our realm.

"We are alert, Rani Letisha. Please don't worry too much about us. We focus on our goal and why we're here from the start," Rin reminded.

"That's what I ought to do, Rin. No need to remind me..."

The power of Glamour is what I came here for. I shouldn't involve the past in this journey. It was, after all, happened before. It was done, and there's no way that it could be brought back.

We're here to get the power of illusion. Not to remind the Pixies about the tragedy that happened to their former leader and ours.

Despite my eagerness to acquire it, I wouldn’t wish for a bloody war to happen between us here.
