Chapter 17 - Empress

1215 Words
Has anyone felt scared about her life? Everyone has fears to overcome. It could be caused by the experience or you’ve brought it to yourself. And there were so many reasons to consider. If I’d ask, I don’t think I would have. Fear has no room in my heart. La Reina taught me that fear shouldn’t exist in me considering the life I have. Having fears would make one feel weak, their hearts and mind would contradict each other, and most likely, the heart wins. Those who choose their heart’s desire are fools. Why would one decide without even thinking of the consequences that await them? “My, my... You are too bold to show yourself to us, huh? And you brought them with you, too. The leader of the Nixie, and the pathfinder. Aren’t you a fool to involve them in your life-threatening goal, Rani Letisha?” I stayed silent, not wanting to speak. My eyes just followed her. She has this smirk playing on her small lips. And now that a Pixie is in front of us, I could see the resemblance of her beauty to us fairies. She was beautiful. Her dark wings complimented her pale white skin, red hair and black fits, those golden glittering tattoos on her arms and neck, and the black ink under her gloomy eyes. She was beautiful, alright. But dark and dangerous. A manipulative Pixie, a bad fairy one should not trust. I don’t know why she knows me. Thinking of it; the Pixies must have kept their eyes on us. Yet why can’t we feel their presence if that’s the case? Unless someone is constantly reporting us to them. Who? It’s hard to conclude but the directors were the ones who first came into my mind. Besides, they were the only people who had the guts to show the distaste in their faces whenever they faced me. “So, what brought you here?” She’s now in front of me. Fairies can shift, but only a few. The Pixies must still have the power of shifting, then. She was directly staring at me with her plain black eyes. No white, it was all dark. “Where’s your leader?” I questioned with no fear in my voice. I have to show them I’m not scared of anyone which I’m not. They are Pixies, I am a Fae. I am Rani Letisha. The lady who fears nothing. “Ah, the guest should tell me the goal first why you’re here before facing our ruler.” “I’m not here to pick a fight,” I cleared out. “We have sent you a message. I need to talk to your leader.” Our goal should stay confidential. No one should know. Unless their ruler wanted them to learn about it. That the Fae desired to have their power. Besides, only the leader of the Pixies has it. I’m sure of it. Not every Pixies has the power of illusion. It wasn’t given that easily. “You have to tell it first,” she insisted. I’m not giving up. I knew we’re in their territory but I clearly stated I wanted to talk to the leader only once we arrived. “Your ruler is the one that I came here for, not you or anyone else. Just the leader...” Honestly, I don’t have any idea who. The last leader I’ve heard that ruled the Pixies was the late sister of Queen Dowager’s mother. After she died, there was no written about who sat on the throne after the previous ruler withered. I wonder who... And was their leader still angry at us? Probably. Knowing the Pixies, they were like Alistair who likes to plant it and let it grow inside them, ‘till it takes over their sanity. “You can’t go inside without telling me first.” She gritted her teeth, not wanting to give up. “I’m inside your territory now. For sure your ruler has received the message, right? And did she order you to ask me my purpose for coming here? Did she?” I challenged her. If yes, I would tell her without hesitation. But no, I don’t think she’d tell the truth. This Pixie would probably spit lies to get what she wants. I’m not a fool to sing. Glaring at me, she raised her hand and was about to slap me when a hand stopped her. It was a guy. A tall one... I didn’t bother to look at them as my eyes went to Terran who held my wrist. “You okay?” he whispered and sounded so concerned. “Nothing happened, Terran. Don’t overreact.” “Well, I’m just concerned, princess...” I understood but couldn’t help but roll my eyes mentally. Did he think that I’d let the Pixie’s filthy hand touch my face? No. And even if they won’t let it land on my skin. No one can slap me. No one was allowed to touch my face with anger and jealousy. No one has the right to touch any part of my body that would leave me a scar. Only me. I glanced in their direction. The guy leaned on her and whispered something in her ear. I averted my gaze, irritated at the way the woman stares. By the looks of it, I guess she has grown a fit of anger towards everyone. I mean, it’s normal for she’s part of the Pixies my kingdom took down. Blaming her for acting such a b itch isn’t the best way for now. Besides, her feelings were valid. But I won’t really tolerate such action if I were not just in their territory. I hissed a bit when I suddenly pushed away, now seeing Terran stood in front of me when the guy faced us. My brows furrowed. What the f uck is his problem?! Good thing Deniz catches my back with his strong arms before my butt sits on the ground. “Terran, careful!” Deniz reminded him which he ignored. “The Empress is waiting for all of you inside. Follow me,” the tall guy said, turning his back from us and walking after the woman who silently left, annoyed. Glaring at Terran, I fixed myself. “We’ll meet their queen. Don’t be too aggressive, Terran.” I heard a small chuckle because of my remarks. That was right. All of us should remain calm to stick with our plans. We can’t ruin this chance, but if they would do something that would bring me to an extreme annoyance, I wouldn’t think twice but to cause chaos in their place. I am Rani Letisha. My patience is thin as my hair, so they better watch out.
