Prologue
In the deepest parts of the ocean contains a city made up of a highly hidden civilization. Surrounded by several homes, lies a tremendous forgotten castle. Outsiders exploring too near would be blind to it; enemies fear it. Once known to mankind, now righteously named The Lost City of Atlantis.
In front of the castle is a long extravagant staircase leading to a large glass wall. It is supported by two seaweed covered pillars. Gazing up* from the bottom of the white staircase, the height of the brick castle seems to go on for miles and miles. The center of the glass wall consists of a medieval-looking door. Opening the heavy door you will find a grand hall containing several smaller doors leading to various rooms and long narrow hallways. Beautiful lights strategically placed as if the actual sun rays could reach that deep down into the ocean. Scanning the lovely turquoise floor, one would easily overlook the tails as they sway peacefully with the soft current. Positioned in the center of the grand hall you will find a magnificent three pier waterfall with blue lighting accenting the stone and rocks. Strong currents rush down into a hole in the floor endlessly. Two members of the elite guard stare admiringly as they consult with their high leader.
Brendan, the commander of the elite guard, says, “Do you think she will have a difficult transition, High Leader?”
“I’ve told you for a billion years, you can address me as Ralph. As for Jessa, if she’s anything like her father she will be fierce and strong during Transition,” replied Ralph as he affectionately patted the commander’s shoulder.
“Sorry, Ralph,” he stated sarcastically, “you know the other members would be displeased if they heard me use your given name freely.”
“Forgive me,” James adds sheepishly, “ The time is near for the first stages of Transition to begin. Her parents have notified me it will begin within the week. Only time will tell, High Leader.”
“So soon,” Ralph mentioned absent-mindedly. He quickly directed his full attention to the young man, “Are you sure?”
“ Yes, High Leader. I received word just this Sunrise,” replied James. He suddenly began fidgeting his lanky fingers as he became nervous. He didn’t want to upset the High Leader. He thought the older man would be rejoicing in his new information but he just looks so concerned!
“H-Hi-High Leader, have i upset you,” James stammers.
“Oh no, James,” Ralph bellows, “I am simply remembering how quickly time can pass you by. I’ll retire to my living quarters now, my good men. As I have lots of preparations and planning to do!” His men bow slightly as their High Leader turns away, “I get to finally see my daughter once again after all the many years,” he happily exclaims loudly.
