Misunderstanding(Tony x reader x Steve)

(y/n)'s P. O. V.~

Tony. He's been ignoring me for the past few days. I wonder why. Did I do something wrong ? Or did he lose interest in me?

The thought itself made me sick. Does Tony love someone else? I don't know. Guess I will never know why he has been avoiding me, his girlfriend for the past two years, if I do not ask him.

Yeah, that might be the best. I'm gonna ask him what's wrong.

"Friday ? Where's Tony ?"

"He is in his lab , Miss (l/n). But he has strictly restricted anyone from entering his lab. "

"Even me?"

"Yes."

I let out a sigh. Seriously, what are you up to Tony?

"Friday, do me a favour. Tell Tony that he is a jerk."

After a few seconds the AI replied,

"Your work is done."

For real ? Did Friday really call Tony a jerk ? This cracked me up. Now I'm feeling a bit better. I might as well settle in front of the TV with my favourite ice cream .

With that in mind I made my way to the kitchen to fetch me some icecream and then plopped down on the couch in front of the TV.

I surffed through the TV while eating my icecream and then I came across a news which ruined my mood.

"Tony Stark was spotted for the third time this week with his ex-girlfriend. In front of a jewellery shop-"

I switched the TV off. I wanted to hear no further. So... It is true. He loves someone else. I gritted my teeth and left the couch, heading to our shared room.

As I stomped down the hallway, I ran into a strong body. Steve. I looked up to see that he seemed somewhat sad. What happened to him? I couldn't help but worry because this super soldier here, is my best friend.

"Stevie?"

He stared down at me with sad eyes.

"What's the matter?"

"Its... it's nothing,(y/n)..."

I took his face into my hands,

"Hey... Look at me, do you not trust me enough to tell me about your sorrows?"

"It's just that..."

"Let's take it to my room."

Well, it's mine and Tony's room.

Steve agreed and we both went to our room. Steve sat on the bed, seeming a bit tense.

"Steve, please tell me. I'll help you." I said comforting him as I stood in front of him.

Steve let out a deep sigh, "It's...it's about her. The doctors said that she won't... She has very little time left.. and I... I don't know... What to do..."

The emotions. I could feel it. To lose your loved one. Suddenly I remembered about Tony. And the fact that he might be cheating on me. And my heart throbbed with pain.

I gulped and opened my mouth to say comforting words to Steve but all that came out was, "Steve... I... I think that... Tony.. he, he might be... Cheating. On me.."

Both our eyes widened.

"I'm.. I'm sorry Steve, I shouldn't be telling you all these-"

"(Y/n).." Steve's arm went around my waist as he pulled me forward, towards him. His other hand threaded into my hair as he tugged my head closer to his. From this close, I could see. See that there's a little green in the blue of his eyes. I was mesmerized by those beautiful eyes.

Normal P.O.V~

Maybe it was the fact that they both needed some kind of comfort or the fact that both of them felt terribly lonely but the thing that happened next, wasn't directed of their conscious mind.

Their lips connected as her palms pressed against his broad shoulder blades, his hand pressed against the small of her back, pushing her further closer to him as she stood in between her legs, with him sitting on the bed. Steve's other hand, on the back of her head, pressed her head further forward, deepening the kiss.

His tongue glided over her lips, asking for entrance. She parted her lips slightly to let his tongue inside her mouth--

"What the actual hell?!"

Tony's P..O.V~

I was working in my lab and wondering about how she would react. A smile formed on my lips. Would she be happy? Or more than happy?

I have it all planned out. The proposal, that is. I'm gonna propose to (y/n) this weekend. And I can't wait to see her reaction. More like, I can't wait to hear her excited voice when she says yes.

I leaned back on my chair, closing my eyes for a second, folding my hands behind my head and began imagining the scene.

"You are a jerk." An electronic voice resonated in the room.

Jarvis? But why would he call me a jerk?

"What's up J? What did I do to be called a jerk?"

"I'm sorry, Sir. That was Miss (y/n)'s wish."

Really? What made my special girl call me a jerk? Well, only one way to find out, I guess. To go and ask her.

I shrugged and got up, making my way to our room. The door opened and what I saw, changed everything. Crushed every hopes of mine.

(Y/n) kissing Cap. Cap's arms around her, holding her close while her hands were on his shoulder. From the looks of it, they both were enjoying it. And that made me feel sick.

And here I was. Planning our wedding.

"What the actual hell?!" I shouted.

Normal P.O.V~

(Y/n) and Steve quickly pulled away from one another.

Tony looked betrayed. And hurt. And this caused (y/n)'s heart to throb with guilt. Did... Did she just cheat on Tony?! While accusing him of cheating...

"Tony, wait-"

But Tony didn't stay. He turned on his heel and made his way out of their room. He would better be off in his lab. With his suits. At least they won't betray him.

"Tony!" She called after him but he didn't wait.

(Y/n) didn't even think once before she let go of Steve and ran after Tony. Because, Steve may be her bestfriend. But Tony, he is her world. Without whom, she can't survive.

"Tony! Please, just listen to me this once. Please..." She cried as she placed her hand on the glass wall of the lab.

Tony couldn't bear hearing her crying as she continued to beg him to hear her out. He had his back faced to her but he knew that tears were streaming down her face.

He ordered Jarvis to let her in.

"You have 5 minutes. Speak." He ordered.

"Tony, thank you." (Y/n) breathed a sigh of relief.

"Just get it over with!"

She stepped back a bit.Tony had never raised his voice with her. She's scared This time she has screwed it up.

She gulped and spoke, "Steve is nothing but my bestfriend. And what you saw there, was just due to our pained emotions of losing our loved ones-"

"So, whom did you lose?" He spat. Oh God, he is really angry.

"I... I.. I thought that...maybe you lost interest in me... Because you were ignoring me.. and then the rumours of you getting back with your ex.." she was facing the ground, her eyes glued to her feet.

But as Tony turned around to face her, she looked up, into his brown eyes and continued, "I thought that maybe you have fallen out of love. With me.."

Tony's eyes softened. Now he realized that he had been ignoring her for the past week. And about the matter with his ex, well,

"I'm sorry, (y/n). I had no intention to ignore you. I was busy planning how to propose to you. And about me meeting my ex, you know that she owns the best jewellery shop and so, I wanted the ring I would gift you, to be precious."

Her eyes widened, the tears glistening in her eyes. She had jumped to conclusions to easily.

"Oh Tony, I'm so so so sorry. I misunderstood. I jumped to conclusions before hand and that's why this happened-"

Tony came forward and hugged her tightly, "Shhh... It's alright. I forgive you."

(Y/n) hugged him back and burried her face in his shirt, inhaling his scent.

"Tony, I love you."

She said as she pulled away from the hug just a bit to stare at his beautiful brown eyes.

"I love you, (y/n)."

And then he dipped in to kiss her lips. Both of them having forgiven each other.

But unbeknownst to the lovebirds, a certain blonde super soldier was leaning on the wall outside the lab. He had a guilt in his heart for causing his two favourite people hurt and a pain because the girl he loved, would never love him back.
