Part 2 of Coward(Bucky x reader x Tony)

"When the chemicals of love and revenge mix, they are even capable of moulding enemies into friends."

"Do you, Tony Stark, take (y/n) (l/n) to be your wife?"

"I do."

"Do you, (y/n) (l/n), take Tony Stark to be your husband?"

"I do."

And then their lips connected, sealing their fate- together, beside one another. Till death does them part.

Tony's eyes fluttered open. A soft yet somewhat melancholic expression on his face. It's the first time he hadn't had a nightmare while he's asleep. Well, what less a nightmare was this dream? To know that it's all in the past. Past indeed. She won't return to him, now. She's gone and gone far away. The only person whom Tony trusted with his broken heart and trust, (y/n), was no more. He still remembers what he said to their daughter,

Flashback~

"Papa, where's mommy?" Maria asked as she looked up at his papa with her big bright blue eyes.

"She's... She's just gone for sometime. She'll return. Soon enough." Tony said. He lied through his teeth. But he didn't care. He couldn't bring himself to crush the hope in those beautiful blue eyes.

Flashback ended~

Tony sighed. He ran his hands down his face. Better get to work. He's in his lab, barely sleeping and barely eating. And continuously working to build a new, enhanced suit and a contingency plan for Ultron's Contingency plan.

Rhody was in the living room, taking care of Maria.

And Bucky? He was standing beside the terrace. He was gazing out, at the endless sky,

"Bucky, I want someone whose love for me would have no ends. Just like the sky!"

(y/n)'s words rang in his mind. A smile formed on his lips. But then, a few at first and then on full length, droplets of water started falling from the sky. It's raining. Bucky didn't even think. His feet took him to the terrace. Letting the rain wet him, fully. Water trickled down his hair, his face, his body, soaking all his clothes.

Bucky closed his eyes, letting the memories he treasured so much float up in his mind,

"I could kill you any given second. You know that, right?"

"Oh please. You won't do that Mr. Soldier."

"What makes you think that?"

"You need the information I have." She said with a wink towards Bucky.

Bucky's mouth opened a bit as he let the rain drops trickle down his face and then down his chin.

Before either of them could say anything, droplets of water started falling from the sky. Rain. The way (y/n)'s face lit up at the sight of rain, it made Bucky wonder- is... Is this what they call 'happiness'?

(y/n) ran out of the Hydra base, out in the rain. She trwiled around in the rain, letting the drops of water kiss her skin. A big smile and grin always on display on her lips. The rain wetted her fully but she didn't care. If anything, she seemed to be enjoying herself.

Bucky's eyes opened slowly. He ran a hand through his hair. The water droplets trickling down his face his the existence of the hot tear that slipped out of Bucky's eyes. It's all in the past now. Nothing would be the same again. She's gone. And all because of his stupidity--

A sudden force pushed Bucky to the wall. There, holding him against the wall, by his neck with a metal arm, was Ultron. Bucky scratched at the Vibranium arm effortlessly, in attempts to free himself. But Ultron had a death grip on his neck.

"Tell me. How does it feel to have a body of both flesh and metal ?" Ultron asked in his ever so menacing voice.

A blast from a repulsive blaster threw Ultron away from Bucky. Bucky grabbed his throat and greedily gulped in deep breaths of air.

Tony, suited up in his Ironman suit had blasted Ultron off Bucky.

"Hey man, need some help handling the worst toy you ever made?" Rhodey asked as he came, suited up in his War machine suit.

Bucky got up and stood in a defensive position. He glanced at Rhody, giving him a dirty look, with his eyes narrowed.

Rhodey noticed Bucky's staring and replied, "I don't regret what I said. Not even one bit. Oh come on, man!"

Flashback~

"We should tell Steve and the others. About Ultron. We should assemble the Avengers. That what you said! So what aren't you informing them?" Bucky asked.

Tony was sitting on a chair in his lab, rubbing his forehead, "Because I don't want Ultron locating them. Ultron doesn't know where the others are! He wants us to connect to them so that he could get to them before us and destroy each one if us one by one."

"But still I think. That it's best to have everyone together. At least contact Steve." Bucky scoffed.

Tony sighed. He got out his phone. The phone Steve send him. He was about to call Steve but he couldn't bring himself to press the call button. His breathing was heavy. No. He... He can't do this.

Suddenly a hand was placed on his shoulder. Tony looked behind to see that it's none but his best friend, Rhodey.

"Look man. I won't force you. I know how difficult it is for you. You don't even have to make the call if you don't want to. We will contact the others after you make the Contingency plan for Ultron's Contingency plan. And gear up the new suits." Rhodey's words put him at ease.

And hence, Tony didn't make the call to Steve.

Flashback end~

"Rhodes. We can handle this. Take Maria away from here. Away from the Tower." Tony ordered Rhodey.

"But-"

"Just do it!" Tony said as he fended off Ultron.

Rhodey picked up Maria, "Can't...can't I play with Mr. Bucky's metal arm? I wanna stick magnets to it!"

"Uh-huh. We'll do it the other day. For now, let's go!" Rhodey flew away from the Tower, leaving Tony and Bucky to fight Ultron.

"Stark, have any idea on how to pull this one off?" Bucky asked as he tried to attack Ultron from behind,

"Maybe. Depends on if you're ready to go on with the flow, Barnes." Tony answered as he dodged another attack from Ultron.

"Really, Stark? Out of all the time, you chose this time to ask my permission?" Bucky paused his movements to say this but had to dunk down sharply as Ultron tried to push him off the roof by swinging his arm over Bucky.

"Back to back!" Tony said as he blasted Ultron with his repulsive blaster.

"How would it help against a single enemy?" Bucky asked.

"Just listen to me!" Tony shouted.

"Fine!" Bucky and Tony pressed their backs together, Tony holding his hands out with his repulsive blasters ready and Bucky in a fighting stance.

"Hahaha! Look at you pathetic mortals. Aren't you laughable? Killing you won't be any more fun than it was killing (y/n)-"

Ultron didn't get to finish his mockery when Tony blasted him with his arc reactor, "Don't even pronounce her name." He said through gritted teeth.

He turned around, letting Bucky face Ultron, "Now Barnes!"

Bucky continuously punched Ultron till they heard a c***k sound and then Tony flew towards Ultron's back. But just as Tony was about to set the antivirus device on Ultron's neck, Ultron send out a wave. A sound wave which rendered both Tony and Bucky movement less.

They both fell to the ground, clutching their ears. The device fell from Tony's hand. Tony tried to reach for the device but Ultron kicked it away and the device fell off the roof.

"No..." Tony said, horrified. All hopes are lost now. They can't stop Ultron now.

Just as Ultron was about to reach inside Tony's lab, a feminine voice came from behind,

"Hey robot! Don't even think of taking one more step."

Bucky's and Tony's eyes widened. She was wearing her characteristic black suit. Her hair tied up in a pony tail and her eyes burning with a fire of determination, just like the very first day Bucky saw her.
