"The last word will probably be oops! Because she is clumsy and would manage to trip over things which aren't there!"
(Y/n). A mutant with Elementrics as her power. Pretty cool, right? An Avenger. A new one in that and the youngest member of The Avengers. A cheerful girl with a bright smile which could light up anyone's day. An overall perfect girl--
"Ouch !"
Well here we go.
"Come on kid. Tripping over a tree branch ? Really ? "
"I'll show you what I can do Stark!"
"Uh huh . Incoming."
"Woah! That was close."
(y/n) just doged an arrow by an inch.
"Focus kid. A true soldier never loses their focus ."
"Well I'm not a soldier, Cap."
"Hahaha ! Avengers. Earths Mightiest Heroes. You have a kid in your team of jokers."
"You are one to talk Ring Master."
Came Tony's snarky reply.
So, they have been fighting The Ring Master in a jungle. Pretty simple.
She raised her hands and forced a gush of wind towards the Ring Master only for him to move away. Sam got hit by the wind and fell down losing his balance.
"(Y/n) ! Look where you launch your attack ."
"Sorry Sam!"
And then Tony aimed his arc reactor's powerful repulsive blast at Ring Master and hit him correctly.
"Your aim has improved Stark"
"It was always good Barton."
"You could have done that at the beginning and saved us all the hard work."
"You're welcome, Cap."
Steve sighed at Tony's sass.
"So , where is the Avenjet ? I don't lie staying at this forest."
(Y/n) asked impatiently.
"Well, here it is."
The Avenjet was made visible again by Tony.
"Let's go home!!"
"(y/n), I think you should slow down-"
"Gahh!!"
A splash was heard as she fell into a lake.
"Hahaha ."
The others roared in laughter.
"I hate you guys."
(Y/n) grumbled as she wiped the water from her face.
Time Skip to Avenger Tower~
"I so hate you guys."
The whole ride to Avenger Tower was nothing but the team making fun of her and her clumsiness.
It was a constant sting to (y/n) because she was an emotional girl.
As soon as the reached home, she ran into her room wanting some time to herself.
The other Avengers thought that she was tired and decided not to bother her but one person knew what was going on.
"I should have just stayed with them. Logan was right. Perhaps I could never fit in here."
(Y/n) sighed as she remembered Logan's words.
Flashback~
"Are you sure that it is what you want ? That they are what you want ?"
"Yes Logan, I want to stay with them. I want to be an Avenger. I want to be more than just a mutant."
"You can be a part of the X-Men by staying here."
(Y/n) shook her head and said,
"No Logan. The Avengers. They are more than just my team, they are like my family other than you all. I feel like I am at he when I am with them ."
"Are you sure you can fit in with them ?"
"Of course, after all we are family."
Logan sighed loudly.
"There's no stoping you once you have made up your mind, huh , bub ?"
She flashed a grin at the older mutant.
And the older mutant ruffled her hair in return with a smile of his own.
(Y/n) huged the older mutant who was like an older brother to her.
"I will miss you ,Logan."
"I'll miss you too bub."
Flashback end~
"So it turns out that you were right the whole time, huh Logan ?"
(Y/n) asked as she looked at the sky through the window.
A hot tear rolled down her cheek as her eyes stared into the endless night sky.
"I wish you were here , brother. I'm so lonely right now."
Another tear escaped her melancholic eyes. And soon she was crying.
"It's not my fault that I'm so clumsy."
The room was filled with sounds of sniffs and hiccups .
"Why am I such a cry baby ? Why am I not strong, like the others ?"
"You are."
Startled, (y/n) looked at the direction of the voice. It came from outside the door.
That voice. It was of that person , the only one who never made fun of her.
"Open the door, doll."
She wiped away her tears hastily. And replied in a shaky voice,
"No! Go away..."
"You know that I am not gonna go till you let me in."
(Y/n) opened the door timidly. She looked up at Bucky with her puffy red eyes. Her cheeks red and tear stained due to crying.
It didn't take long for Bucky to enter the room, closing the door behind him and embrace the crying girl in his strong arms.
"Shh... It's alright. "
She cried, burying her face on his shoulder.
"You must be laughing at how much of a cry baby I am, right ?"
"If you think that then you don't know me well enough, Doll."
She stared at him with wide eyes as she tilted her head to one side in confusion.
"I could never laugh at the thing I adore. And that's you."
Finally someone was here to comfort her. She couldn't be happier.
Fresh tears flowed down her cheeks, she can't tell whether they were tears of joy or otherwise.
Bucky placed a warm hand on her cheek.
The warmth. It was in contrast to the cold feeling she had earlier when she was all alone.
(Y/n) nuzzled her face into Bucky's warm hand,
"Bucky..."
"I will always be there for you. And the Avengers will also. "
She just nodded her head at his soothing words.
"You know right that we are more than just a team ? That we may fight , make fun of each other but no matter what , we would always be a family. "
"Yes... You are right Bucky. It was foolish of me to cry at that little a matter."
Bucky flashed a small smile at her which made her smile back at him.
"Now, don't cry , Doll. Tears don't suit your beautiful face. "
Having said that, Bucky wiped away her tears.
"Thanks Bucky. Thanks for being with me."
"You don't need to thank me because I intend to be with you forever."
(Y/n)'s eyes went wide. Does that mean-
"I love you , (y/n). I always have and I always will. "
"Bucky... I love you too."
And with that, Bucky leaned forward to place a swest kiss on her lips, cradling her face in his hands.
She returned the kiss happily and her arms wrapped around his neck to bring him closer.
Extended ending~
(Y/n) and Bucky walked into the Living room of Avengers Tower to see that all the Avengers were there.
"We are sorry kid, we shouldn't have made fun of you. "
"Yes , brother Anthony is right, we apologize for our misbehavior."
"Hey there kid, look what we have for you."
Natasha showed them a chocolate cake that was placed on the table with candles on it and a card beside which read, 'Sorry '.
(Y/n)'s eyes moistened at the display of love.
"I'm even surprised that the cake is still in one piece."
(Y/n) said in a playful voice .
"Yeah it was a pain to keep Hulk and Thor away from it."
Tony replied with a hand rubbing the back of his neck.
"I love you guys so much !"
She finally realized that this is how a family functioned. They fight, they make fun , but at the end of the day, they come along together. Because they are a family!
(Y/n) looked at Bucky and he read the joy in her eyes. He would go to any length to preserve that joy .
'Logan , I told you. They are my family . And I was right.'
She thought while she rejoiced with the team of whom she was so fond of.
