"When a heart breaks, it makes no sound, it breaks silently. The howling cries are a part of the aftermath."

"Hydra is plotting something big. This is confirmed from someone who is within them. We need to act fast. Cap, (y/n), I entrust you both to find out and stop whatever they are planning. Invade their main base in the outskirts of the city tomorrow."

"We will be on it now, Director Fury."

"The lady already said the words."

(Y/n) and Steve exited Director Nick Fury's office , they were currently in the Helicarrier.

"So , at what time do we start tomorrow, Steve ?"

"At night time, near about 9pm, it's always easier to invade a place at night. "

"Aye aye Captain~"

Said the (h/c) [hair colour] haired girl in a playful tone.

This caused both of them to let out a laughter. Being a SHEILD agent and a superhero, isn't easy sometimes. So , why not use some humour in the way ?

"So, how about a little training ?"

"Sure."

After their training session, they decided to take a good nap for the following day would be hard.

Time Skip~

It's time for the mission, the super soldier and the SHEILD agent flying in a plane to their location.

"(Y/n), you go through the back side and disable their security from their computer room . I will go through the front to avoid their attention to drift to you."

The Captain had said the plan. The agent nodded in agreement.

'Shall I tell her now that I love her ?'

The Captain thought.

"Uhm (y/n),"

"Yes Steve ?"

(Y/n) looked up at him with her bright (e/c) eyes. This caused Steve to become more nervous than he was. He gulped ,

'Oh no, this isn't the right time neither the right place,'

So he changed his words,

"Stay safe."

She nodded and flashed a small smile at him,

"You too."

And Steve smiled in return.

'I will confess my love to her after this mission.'

Soon the plan was put into existence as the plane landed.

The agent got into action , going through the back side stealthily while the super soldier went through the front . Till (y/n) reaches the computer room of the Hydra base, none of them would reveal themselves , they would both have to do this quietly .

"(Y/n) where are you ? Have you reached the computer room yet ? "

Came Steve's voice through the transmitter on (y/n)'s ear. Just as she was about to reply, a large gloved hand clamped on her mouth and she was pressed on a strong muscular body from behind,

"Shh... We need to be careful here."

(Y/n) elbowed the man on his stomach, sending him to the ground, groaning.

"Don't mess with me."

She observed that it was a Hydra agent. They must have tracked her transmitter's incoming signals,

"You...you would never get out of here , alive !"

And with that he pressed the alarm button.

"Damn it ! I have to get to Steve before-"

She stopped as she noticed the Hydra agents had surrounded her from all sides. She is not one to give up, Steve had trained her, she won't let him down by surrendering.

With that in mind , she launched on the Hydra agents taking many of them down. Even after taking a lot many down, there were infinite. It's like innumerable ants in an ant bill. No matter how many she defeats, they never ceased to come.

A bullet pierced her left leg, she let out a cry of pain. Tears mingled with sweat as she continued to fight. But as a strong hit was directed at her head from behind, she gave in. All the blood loss and the pain in her head caused her to black out.

"St...Steve !"

"(Y/n) ! Where are you ?! "

Before the conversation could proceed, the connection was cut, someone must have broken the transmitter.

"Fury, they have discovered us and have caught her. Send backup."

"It will take some time. "

"Why ? You send us in a mission and did not send back up ?! Are you out of your mind ?"

"We are doing our best here . Try to find her and possibly save her."

"You don't need to remind me my duty."

And with that Steve started his search for his comrade. Not again. He won't let another of his comrade meet his fate.

'I will save you (y/n) , wait for me, I am coming.'

Steve thought determined to save his friend, or maybe a little more than just friend.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Hydra base, (Y/n) opened her eyes while groaning. She looked around to see that she was in a dark room . She tried to stand up and then did she feel the excruciating pain in her left leg.

'Oh yeah. The bullet.'

She thought. Thank God that the agent suit of SHEILD was a tight one. It would keep the wound from opening wide.

'I have to get out. Wait a second, why aren't my hands tied ?'

She enquired herself.

'Maybe they thought that an injured female was not a threat.'

She gritted her teeth, how dare they underestimate her ? Sure she was injured but she would show them that she wasn't one to be underestimated.

Determined, she walked , more like limped, to the door . Well, so what now ?

She smirked . She already had the plan plotted out. She took out the dagger which she had hide in her suit and cut through the door . She escaped the dark room where she was held captive, easily.

She roamed the hallway and ended up in another room. She looked around to see that one wall of the room was made of glass.

She went near the glass and looked closer to see the figure of..... A man ?

A rough looking man with brown unkempt hair. She placed her hand on the glass. No body should be held captive like that. Why was he kept in that cold place ?

And then it hit her. It was a cryogenic freezer. And this man was the Winter Soldier she had read about in the SHEILD database.

Before she could process with her thoughts she heard voices in the hallway. She still has her mission to complete, she can't get caught again.

"There she is ! Catch her !"

Oh the ill luck . They saw her. She turned back and was about to flee but there was Hydra agents everywhere.

And they fired at her but fortunately she managed to dodge the bullet.

Shattering of glass was heard and (y/n) turned around to see that the Winter Soldier's cryogenic freezer was disturbed.

The man groaned. Oh s**t. His sleep is disturbed. He is waking up.

This is bad. From what she has read , the Winter Soldier is uncontrollable.

The man opened his eyes . Oh those beautiful blue eyes.

But his actions scared her. He got up and took out all the Hydra agents in that room.

An alarm was buzzing.

"The Winter Soldier is out of order--"

Before the announcement could enhance, it stopped.

(Y/n) was confused, she did not take over the computer room. So how ?

That's it ! Steve must have called back up.

"Who are you ?"

That emotionless voice pulled her back to reality. She was shocked , so it took her a minute to answer,

"Answer my question, woman."

The Winter Soldier advanced on her and reflexively she took a step backwards. Her injured leg ached from putting the whole weight on it and losing her balance, she fell backwards, landing on her butt.

Her hand gripped the dagger.

"I'm a SHEILD agent and-"

She stopped mid sentence, his eyes had a dangerous glint.

She gulped.He was not trusting her.

Suddenly she was pulled up by his metal hand gripping her throat and her back was slammed against the cold wall.

"I am not here to hurt you... Ah !"

His grip tightened on her throat. At this rate, she would black out again.

She struggled against him. She clawed at his metal arm desperately to free herself . She even kicked his side but he didn't even budge. (Y/n) looked at him with wide eyes while he stared at Her with cold emotionless eyes. Her oxygen supply was cut off as he tightened his grip on her neck and all she heard before her vision went all black was a familiar voice calling her name .

Steve had come running into the room from where all the commotion was heard . He was shocked to see the scene, a man holding his comrade by her throat. And his arm was made of... Metal ?

"(Y/n) !"

Her eyes dropped. And that's when Steve lost it. He threw his sheild at that man's head and the man fell down, releasing (y/n).

Steve rushed to her and cradled her in his arms.

"No...no this...can't happen . (Y/n), open your eyes. You can't leave me !"

She still had a pulse though it was low. Tears pooled at his eyes.

He turned to that man. He would never forgive that man if she died. When Steve turned to that man, hewas shocked. It...it was him.

"B... Bucky...."

Steve gasped out, his eyes wide.

That man clenched his fists and launched a punch on Steve. Steve caught his punch mid air.

"What happened to you Buck ? "

"Shut up ! That's not my name!"

And with that Bucky kneed Steve in the abdomen. Steve bent down, doubled over with pain, blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

Bucky took this chance to escape.

And then came the SHEILD agents .

"We need to get her medical attention real fast."

And they took Steve and (y/n) back to the Helicarrier.

(Y/n)'s wounds were patched up and when asked by Steve, the doctor answer was,

" Her health is alright but the amount of blood loss has caused her to go into a state of coma. "

"How long will her coma last ?"

"She can wake up anytime."

That was the only hope Steve had. For three days Steve gas done nothing but sit beside her , hold her hand and let his tears flow freely . And after that , he would go to train . Training recklessly was his was of letting out his anger on not being able to save her. The girl whom he loved.

While training, Steve would punch the punching bag until his knuckles bleed. He would sometimes even fall on his knees on the training room and cry out loud.

That was his way of letting out his frustration.

Now, on the fourth day , Steve sat beside (y/n)'s unconscious form , holding her hand tightly.

"I should have never let her go. This... this is all my fault. I failed to protect her, the girl I love. And now I couldn't even tell her how I feel for her.Why does everytime I find someone special, something wrong happens ? "

He has got barely any sleep in there four days. So , he fell asleep on his chair.

(Y/n) stirred in her sleep. Warm. She felt warm. She opened her eyes to look at a white ceiling . She felt her hand encased in something warm and saw that it was none other than her dear Captain. She sat up on her bed and stared at Steve's sleeping form, trying to remember what happened before.

And then all the events of that night came to her mind. Pain. She was in pain but now, it's better. Now she was feeling warm and loved. She squeezed Steve's hand that held her's.

"(Y/n) ?"

Steve whispered huskily as he looked up at her with sleepy eyes.

Now this caused (y/n) to blush. His morning voice is so sexy.

" Steve ,"

She smiled at him, placing a soft hand on his cheek.

"I am probably dreaming right now but I don't care , I just wanna tell you that I love you ,(y/n) . And I would never forgive myself if anything was to happen to you."

(Y/n)'s eyes were wide, her mouth hanging open. Steve loved her . The man that she fell for , loved her back.

Not able to contain her joy, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.

Steve's eyes went wide and a blush spread over his face. This wasn't a dream. This touch felt too real to be a dream. But he didn't care. He was just happy to have her back. So his arms went around her waist , pulling her closer. He smiled in the kiss . He smiled for the first time in these four days.

They separated to look at each other's eyes.

"I love you too Steve ! And this isn't a dream you adorable dork ."

She smiled widely at him.

"Uhh... I didn't plan to confess my love in that way but it's fine as long as you are with me."

This caused (y/n) to let out a hearty giggle.

And her laugh was contagious . Because Steve too laughed along with her.

And the two rejoiced in the company of each other .
