A/n : The timing is set after Civil war but they are not separated. The Avengers still live in Stark Tower.
"He never deserved her or at least that's what he thought but she only saw the good in him . While others thought of him as a monster."
Bucky Barnes. He always regretted what he did as the Winter Soldier , the lives of all those innocent people he took. He hated himself for it. And now , he has fallen for the girl whose parents were killed by his very hands.
(Y/n) Stark. The younger sister of Tony Stark. Anyone would think that there was no chance that he would ever get her. But no one can predict future , can they ?
Bucky still remembers the moment when she forgave him . Tears glistened on her cheeks and fresh new tears ran down over the dried tear marks , her whole being racked with sobs which she was trying to suppress , lips quivering as she spoke in a trembling voice ,
"I.... I for*sob* forgive you"
How , just how could a person forgive him after the gruesome things he had done ?
This was his thoughts but her words that day changed his mind .
Bucky's P. O. V.
Just how could a person be so great ?
"Bucky !"
Why did she forgive me ?
"Hey , Bucky !"
Do I really deserve her forgiveness?
"Hey !"
Am I worth it ?
"Bucky !!!!"
Suddenly a voice screamed near my ear. Startled, i asked ,
"What is it ?! You just scared the living hell outta me!"
"Oh really ?? And what about you ? Why were you ignoring me ?"
"I... I was just lost in thought..."
"What were you thinking about , Buck ?"
I sighed , I can't possibly tell (y/n) that she has been conquering my mind for these days. I am in love . With the woman whose parents I killed. Great.
" Nothing , (y/n). "
"Oh , here goes the I-am-always-mysterious guy. Anyway , so what was I saying ? Yeah ! Let's go shopping . I want a new dress for me which I can wear in Tony's upcoming party ."
"Well , there is no stoping you once you have decided something ,"
"You know me so well !!"
Time Skip to Shopping mall~
Bucky's P. O. V.
"Which one ? "
I was looking around the mall when (y/n) came to me with two dresses she had picked.
One blue and another red.
The red one was a revealing dress . I liked it but I don't want her to wear that dress in front of others . The other guys would surely drool on her perfect curves.
Whereas, the blue one was elegant. She would look like a modern princess in that one.
"The blue one would suit you better ."
"Duh. I guessed you would say that ,old man. After all old men don't like young ladies wearing a dress like this one , huh ?"
She motioned towards the red dress as she said that.
"An old man , who looks so great that you decided to ask him to be your date for that party. "
"He-hey !!"
A deep blush covered her cheeks. I smirked. For a Stark , she is not much of a playgirl.
"Am I wrong ?"
"But you are nearly a 100 years old !"
"I'm 93, little one. "
"And still you look like you are in your early thirties."
She mumbled but I heard her none the less.
"So , I'm taking the blue dress. Don't you need a Tuxedo , Bucky ?"
"Hmm , come to think of that , i do. "
And I found myself a black Tux.
"I'll pay. "
She suggested.
Time Skip to the Party ~
Bucky's P. O. V.
I sighed as I entered the party thrown by Stark. Its not that I'm not happy to be here. But I would rather spent time alone with (y/n).
I searched the place for (y/n) and I found Steve.
"So , how's it been, Buck?"
"Nice. I am her date for tonight."
"That's great, buddy ! Does Tony know about that ?"
Before I could reply , i hear cheers and -
"Hey Bucky !"
I looked towards the entrance to see that (y/n) had made a stunning entry. Looking absolutely beautiful in the blue dress and with her (hair color) hair cascading down her back.
She gracefully walked up to me and flashed me one of her I-light-up-your-world smiles.
"You look absolutely stunning,"
I whispered in her ear.
"How about a drink ?"
"Sure."
I and her went to the bar , ordering some Whiskey for both of us.
While we drank our glasses of the liquor , none of us saw Tony. It really was astonishing for it was his party after all , where could he be ?
After finishing my glass , I looked over to (y/n) and saw that she had finished her's as well. This your chance Bucky !
"Should we dance ?"
While asking this , I produced my hand towards her. But what I missed was to catch the sad look in her (eye colour) eyes.
"S..sure !"
She took my hand and I pulled her into the dance floor. A soft music was being played as the other couples danced around us.
My hand slipped around her waist , pulling her closer to me and I felt her breath hitch causing me to smirk. So this is the effect I have on her huh ?
I whispered in her ear ,
"Look at me , doll. "
She raised her head , her cheeks a beautiful red colour , her big (e/c ) eyes starring up at mine.
Damn ! That innocent look , I am tempted to lose it and kiss her plump lips . But I knew that I have to control my urges .
A few seconds of dancing as we held each other's gaze , we got lost in the other's eyes.
"(Y/n)..."
My voice came out huskier than I intended for it to.
"Bucky...."
And before we knew it , we were leaning in to each other.
Just as our lips were about to meet , when our faces were inches apart , she stopped. She placed a small hand on my chest ,
"No. Bucky... I... I need some time. I'm sorry ."
Her voice quivered.
And with that , she left me there as she headed towards the balcony.
I rubbed the back of my neck with my flesh hand and said to myself,
"Well , that could have gone better. "
I decided to follow her to the balcony. We need to talk. I want to know what happened.
I reached the balcony and saw her leaning on the railings with a sad look on her face , wind blowing the hair on her face. Even with such a melancholic look on her face , she looks beautiful. Oh God. I really am in love , huh ?
I placed my hands on the railings as I stood beside her ,
"So, what was that about ?"
She let out a sigh ,
"That wasn't about you , Bucky , that was about me..."
"You know that you could tell me about it , right ? After all we are best friends."
"Yes Bucky , we are and... And I really like you. But...but this.... I don't think that I'm ready for a relationship.... Again."
My eyes widened.
"Again ?"
"Yes. I had a boyfriend. He... He was sweet and caring but then.. after two years of being together , he became abusive, "
I noticed that she was shaking and pulled her into my arms.
"Shh... It's okay , I'm here. I would never let any harm come to you. I would always protect you (y/n). You mean the world to me. "
She looked up at me and I saw the tears that pricked at the corners of her eyes.
I wiped the tears away as the fell,
"Oh Bucky... I want to belive you but... This is difficult for me to trust another male again . After that incident , the only male I trusted was my brother. "
I took her hand in mine and placed it on my chest , just where my heart is ,
"Trust me ,(y/n). This heart , it beats for you. I have had many regrets and I don't want losing you to be one of them. "
"Bucky..."
"James. Call me James."
"James,"
I liked the way my name rolled off her tongue. I tilted her chin upwards to lock gazes with her ,
" я люблю тебя (I love you ) , James Bucky Barnes."
My eyes widened,
"I didn't see that coming,"
She giggled at my response and I said , looking into her eyes,
"I love you too, (y/n) Stark."
And with that our lips met in a promising kiss.
As the kiss ended , I looked at the night sky and decided to let her know what I felt,
"You know , (y/n) , I could never forgive myself for what I did as the Winter Soldier. "
She sighed ,
"There is something that I and my brother would regret our entire life . We never had a good relation with Dad. He never had time for us. And... Well... We had an argument just the night before mom and dad's death. "
"I... I took away your chances of mending your relation with Howard. I never expect Junior to forgive me. And I know that he would never. "
"It's hard for Tony too. He built an entire empire but... But Dad isn't here to see that. And I think that Tony can forgive you. He just needs time. "
"You think so ?"
"I believe so. "
A smile graced her lips . How could she be so optimistic ?
"Come here,"
With that I pulled her into a hug . She lightens my world. I kissed her lovingly on her forehead ,
"I promise, James, that everything will be settled between you and Tony."
"Hmm."
I relished the feeling of her soft body close to mine .

"What is the name of that guy whom you dated ?"
"I'm not telling you James. "
"Why won't you ?"
"Because I don't want you to kill him. "
"You know me so well , doll."
"You bet I do , soldier."
