Honolulu, Hawaiʻi The Same Night Seated behind his semi-cluttered desk, the CIA officer was reading a briefing of the latest operation on Maui. He shook his head in disgust as he turned to the last page and read the briefing summary. Another agent knocked on the open door to the glass-enclosed office on the second-floor mezzanine. Other agents watched as he entered. They too were curious about their boss and anticipated his reaction to the latest report. “Hey, I can see by your slumped posture, you’re just as disappointed as I am,” the agent mocked, hoping to diffuse the situation with some humor.
