Chapter 6 By his third beer, the music doesn’t seem so loud anymore. Faces have grown fuzzy, indistinct, as if he’s lost in a dream and nothing is as it seems. He vaguely thinks they should start heading back to the school, but that thought flits through his mind and disappears. He’s having too much fun to go back. Jacob’s not sure where Avery is. The kitchen, maybe, because Avery told him he would be right back, he needed a refill, and Parker’s in the kitchen so the kegs have to be in there, too. Jacob would follow him but he’s not sure where the kitchen is. He’s not even sure where the front door is anymore. Without missing a beat, Jacob dances out of the crowd. He leans against the wall almost gratefully. His legs are tired, his feet hurt, his head is starting to buzz like sluggish
