Chapter 4 After dinner, they find an empty study room on the fourth floor of the library. Avery likes to keep to the upper floors of the building, three through five, because there are fewer students there. Most of the kids who study at the library tend to settle on the second floor. There are rows of study carrels there, about fifty or so. When they’re all filled, it gets a little too noisy to study. Even for a library. On the fourth floor, there are only a handful of carrels. Upperclassmen tend to come here. Avery likes that because upperclassmen tend to really study. The library isn’t a social place for them. They don’t look around and see who else is there.
