Chapter 14

The days after that night were calm. I now had control over my magic completely. I also learned that besides the telepathy and telekinesis, I was an empath who could hear lies in others. I also had visions of the past and future. All of my powers were unlocked fully now. I couldn’t believe how I lived without them before. It was like a part of myself had been returned to me. I felt closer to who I was meant to be.

Others were joining us at our new home. Daisy’s parents arrived shortly after that night. They were delightful, although Sam seemed to be on edge when they were around. He was still worried about impressing them. They spent a lot of time together just trying to get to know their daughter’s mate. Daisy was on cloud nine, having her family together. Sam still spent all of his time with her no matter what she was doing.

Roy and Gwen have been together everyday since they found each other. He was completely devoted to her. When she had to help in the kitchen, which she really didn’t but she wanted to, he sat in the room watching her with a smile. Gretchen talked with him about what they expected from him. He didn’t argue or disagree with her at all. He even stopped calling me doll. I told him that I was having Sam take over my training with him. I didn’t tell him that I wanted to have him and Gwen spend that time together. I was happy they were together and he was completely smitten.

Daryl was still teaching me how to track although Justin and Luna were helping as well. Daryl still got distracted by the food we were tracking. Luna was teaching me how to read the woods and tracks on the ground. She was a wealth of information. My crew even liked to learn from her. Justin was better now that he had her. I was just glad he didn’t screw things up with her. She was wonderful for him.

Phillip was having fun with Jason and Tony. They were always together in the control room. Eren would join them from time to time. It seemed the four of them were learning from each other. Jason was teaching them electronics, prefect teacher for them there. Tony and Phillip were great strategist and they had fun teaching the others but more fun trying to out do the other.

Azalea and Isabelle have been spending time with Sara, L, and Olesia. The group were having so much fun shopping and going to spas. Sara was in her element with them. She relished the time with these ladies. I’m sure it was a nice change from the guys. They were on a shopping trip now somewhere.

Jake, Brooks, Lee, and Luther spent a lot of time on the grounds. They worked very well together. Luther seemed to like having other guys around. He didn’t even mind that Isabelle was away with my girls. Jake and Brooks had started to train with Luther. They were improving along with Luther. Lee always practiced alone. He enjoyed the peace and alone time.

Gretchen and Gerald were happier than ever. Their entire family was overjoyed with all the company. They still watched over me closely. I had expressed my gratitude for them pledging themselves to me and Gretchen waved me off and shooed me out of the kitchen again. She didn’t want to hear that I didn’t expect them to tie themselves to me.

Ben and Adam arrived the day after Daisy’s parents. They had heard what was going on and told John they wanted to be with me incase I needed their help. To my surprise, John agreed and placed them on leave as well. They were set up in one of the other homes on the property. Ben spent a lot of time with the brownie boys. They had so much fun together. Ben would help them with chores and they would play pranks on each other.

Adam stayed close to me, well as close as he could. Jasper and Jackson didn’t like him near me. Jeremy didn’t care either way. He said he was just happy that I was alive and wouldn’t tell me what to do. I guess he finally learned. I worked with Adam on his skills. We would spar and have target shooting. He was a hell of a shot. He always made sure to remind me.

Jasper, Jackson, and Jeremy were with me always. We spent every night in our room together. Just talking and getting to know each other better. Jeremy was more relaxed around everyone than the other two. He told them that he was confident in me and wasn’t worried about losing me because he’d just follow me around until I came to my senses. Our relationship was as prefect as we could have it. We still had our times when we would argue but it was less often than before.

Jackson was like a hawk watching me at all times. I guess he felt an echo of the pain from that night. Our souls being tied together allowed him to feel it when the others couldn’t. So he was being a tad over protective. He really thought I didn’t notice how tense he would get sometimes around me when I used my magic. I knew he needed to work through it himself. He was afraid that someone would hurt me and he couldn’t stop it.

Jasper, what can I say, he was like his element. Fiery and passionate. He liked to stay by my side as much as possible even if he had a hard time keeping his hands to himself. I had been working with him and his magic lately. I found that due to our connection, I was fire proof. We played around with his magic so I could handle it if I needed to. Although with his family here, I really didn’t need to worry about it. I still wanted to know how to handle the fire if I needed to.

I sat on Jackson’s lap outside in the yard. We were taking a break from training to just relax. I heard Jason call out to Jake. The girls were home. I can only imagine what they had gotten. Jasper laughed and moved to help carry in whatever they had. I followed behind with Jackson and Jeremy. I could only smile as I saw the excitement on their faces. They all looked so happy.

I stood back and watched them talk to each other about what they had gotten. They were all really excited about new outfits they found. I watched Jake roll his eyes as he took each bag Sara handed him. The joy I felt was unlike anything I’ve ever known. We were all happy and together. I knew it wouldn’t last with everything that still needed doing but at least we could have this day. Jackson hugged me from behind as my fingers interlaced with Jeremy’s. Today was a good day and I was looking forward to many, many more with my new family.
