“Alpha Nikolai doesn’t talk much though. He’s really standoffish.” Why was Gigi choosing him of all people to talk about tonight?
“Well, I can understand,” I responded. “He lost his entire family and most of his pack recently.” Stating it out loud made me tear up a bit. Something about this man. He made it so hard to control my emotions and my hormones. Sometimes I thought I was losing my sanity when he entered my consciousness.
“Yeah,” Gigi slumped her shoulders and balanced her head on her hands. “That really sucks. I can’t even imagine.”
“Hello!” We both jumped as the waitress popped out of, seemingly, nowhere. “Can I start you off with a drink?”
Gigi bit her lip. “I’ll have a Sprite, please.”
“Nothing harder?” The waitress winked at her.
