NIKOLAI Exactly twenty of my pack members showed up to warrior training on Friday morning. Half my pack was now makeshift warriors. Before the war, I’d had more than double—fifty of my strongest and bravest men. Now I was left with a random jumble of people that met the only criteria of being between the ages of eighteen and sixty. As they say, for a poor man and a thief, any clothes fit.
