Chapter five

1140 Words
ABBY'S P.O.V "Abby! Josh Weeks is having a party Saturday at his place.." Lucy informed me. "Wanna go?" I looked up from my psychology paper I'm currently writing and looked at my room mate, who had been begging me for weeks to go to a college party with her, and I shake my head laughing. "Why do you want me to go to parties so bad?" She smirked, sensing that she was close to getting what she wanted. "Come on chicky you need to live a little more and I don't mean by banging your calculus teacher." Shawn and I had been seeing each other for a month nothing too serious. We would go to the movies, bars, and the occasional rodeo cuz he knew how much I adored it. However there had been nothing s****l besides maybe some heavy petting. "Lucy I already told you Shawn and I haven't had sex." "How could you not have s*x with such a beautiful man?" Lucy asked in disbelief. "You have more will power than me girl. I'd have already had my own private rodeo with that one by now if it were me."  "Lucy!" I shouted, "You need to learn to filter that mouth of yours!" She just giggled at the notion. "No can do. But back to my question will you go to Josh's party Saturday? Please?" This girl put her best puppy dog eyes on and pouted as she begged.  I was not a fan of parties; drunken men that didn't know how to keep their hands to themselves and the occasional fights that broke out over something stupid. However Lucy was determined as ever to get me to go and this time I don't have an excuse because Shawn and his friend Jason are having a guys night out that night. A frustrated breathe made its way out of my mouth and I ran my fingers through my hair. "Fine, I will go but only for a couple of hours that's it." "Yes! Finally!" She pumped her fists in the air in celebration. "You won't regret it!" *** This psychology paper was kicking my ass; the causes and results of anxiety was the topic I was given. Everyone got something different, but of course I would get the topic that most impacted my life. I had a week to be done with it and I hadn't even written the first word. I shut my laptop, groaned, and walked to the minifridge for a water. I took out my phone to text Shawn; I have not seen him in a few days because he's either he's busy grading papers or I am busy with home work.  Me: Hi there ;)  Shawn: Hi beautiful, what ya doing  Me:  Considering a lobotomy lol Shawn: Psychology paper messing with your head? lol   Me: Yep! And Lucy is dragging me to a party this Saturday  Shawn: What party?  Me: Josh Weeks is throwing a party... He never text me back after that. Which I found kind of odd, maybe he was just busy. I shrugged my shoulders and decided it was time to crawl into bed for the night. Another night full of the same dream on repeat;  747 miles away from there and I still couldn't escape.  *** SHAWN'S P.O.V  Abigail: Josh Weeks is throwing a party... I did not like that idea at all. Frat parties are full of drunk horny teenage boys who can't keep their hands to themselves. However, I couldn't just tell her she couldn't go she was not my girlfriend... yet.  Josh Weeks was the worst kind of player, he had no boundaries what so ever. He has had many complaints against him but since he's wealthy it all gets swept under the rug in exchange for some generous donations to the school. The thought that he would be breathing the same air as my Abigail unnerved me to no end.  I was not sure what I could do that would not be considered crossing the lines. I couldn't tell not to go because we were not official but I also couldn't go with her because that could get us both in trouble. "Fuck..." This was frustrating... "What's got your panties in a twist?" Jason snickered. "Abigail is going to a frat party with Lucy Saturday while we are out of town." I stated glumly.  "Dude seriously? That's all?" He snorted, "She's young she's bound to go to a few parties. You can't get upset every time." "I know J... But its Josh Weeks throwing the party..." I glared. He thinks I'm being a jealous guy and sure to a certain extent I am, but I'm more concerned for her safety.  "Josh Weeks? That rich frat boy who just avoided getting expelled for taking advantage of a drunk chick at a different party?" I nodded and he raised an eyebrow, "f**k dude no wonder... that kid's reputation is the worst." "Yep and I am trying to figure out what I could do to keep Abigail safe." My brows furrowed as I tried again to think of some kind of solution. "Should I warn her?" "No way. You do that and she's gonna think that you don't think she can take care of herself." He informed, "And you said it yourself she's going with Lucy. Those girls are practically joined at the hip. She'll be fine." I sighed as I walked over to my fridge to grab us two more beers. "You're probably right. Abigail can take care of herself." I still did not like the idea of her going to the party though.  "Awe my baby boy is so cute when he is in love." Jason teased.  "I am not in love." I denied. I was not in love was I? No I just care about her safety that's all. Yeah that's it.  "Sure sure." he rolled his eyes and chugged the rest of his previous beers. "I am not the one you need to convince."  "What is that supposed to mean?" I asked irritated.  "It means you didn't even behave this way with Nicole." He replied, "And ya'll were together for 6 years." I nodded in agreement. He was right about that; I was never concerned about her going to parties without me with her. It is not like I was not concerned for her safety, but I just never thought of her going out to clubs and parties as dangerous to her. Nicole was a formidable woman who could take care of herself. Abigail has obviously been through something horrible and not just her father's death, but I have yet to figure it out. I have tried to bring up the panic attack she had a month ago, but she just changes the subject or ignores me so I stopped asking for the time being.
