"We do not need to wait; we can do this today," Adam told Lily, trying to hide his overly eagerness.
Lily’s breath caught in her throat. “Today? You mean… now? Are you serious?”
"Absolutely, we can get the marriage certificate and then go claim the ticket, we are in this together." he raised his eyebrows and smiled at Lily, as she processed his words.
"We need a witness, and believe me, nobody will do that for me; my own family is on Leon's side," she scowled at the thought of her own mother's attempt to talk her into going back to a cheating liar.
Adam shook his head as he took a sip of his coffee. "That's no problem, my friend Sadie, she owes me a favour. She can be our witness. We need to be quick because the registrar’s office closes soon, but we still have time.”
