Chapter 14
While Katerina Rivera drives Pari in her jeep to Laie, a community on the island's northeastern shore, they talk by speakerphone with Miguel Rivera, Katerina's older brother and the owner of the Apapane Ring manor that Isabelle is renting. He expresses great regret that he agreed to Isabelle's demands to disable most of the security cameras and that he failed to seal off the first story roof access door before returning with his wife, Camila, to Puerto Rico. Both Katerina and Pari assure him that he is not to blame for the murderer's actions.
Pari explains that the police have not released information on a murder weapon and Kawaii cannot recall seeing a weapon when he found Antoine's body.
"It was dark up there, but light enough Kawaii could see Antoine's collapsed position
