In the glittering world of Manhattan's elite, a tempestuous and frantic tale about love, betrayal, and revenge is chronicled in "The Affluent’s Love Affair." When billionaire tycoon Alexander Stone’s dazzling former wife Isabella makes a comeback for vengeance in New York, their formerly ardent affair turns sinister. She did not expect that she would later fall in love with him again. Alexander cannot decide which is more important: his smoldering feelings towards Isabella or her vengeful intentions. They had met in secret and had shared secrets no one else knew about, but it all ended when they grew apart. Whether or not their passionate love affair can be rekindled is uncertain; however, what is certain is that it will end in tragedy for someone or something affluent the world over.

The Return of Isabella
Hanging from the high ceilings, the chandeliers were like sparkling stars creating a golden atmosphere in the luxurious ballroom. As they assembled for yet another opulent gala, Manhattan’s Royals murmured as they clinked their glasses with crystal clear ones. Wealth and power were exhibited through the room and these people were all dressed in expensive dresses or tuxedos in an opulent display of wealth and power. A well-dressed socialite whispered to her friend: "Do you know that Isabella Sinclair is in town again? Her eyes were gleaming with excitement.” Alexander Stone heard the whisper but showed no reaction. He stood by the grand staircase with an air of unassailable authority, his piercing blue eyes scanning the room and taking in the familiar faces of business moguls, celebrities, and old-money aristocrats, impeccably dressed with every detail exuding power and control. “How about the new procurement, Mr. Stone?" His assistant, Rebecca, wanted to know. This took him off guard. "By the end of this week, we will have the details wrapped up.” Alexander’s voice was soft yet his tone firm; yet in his mind, he was thinking of some forgotten name from long ago – Isabella Sinclair. The ballroom's grand doors have swung open, causing silence in the crowd. Isabella Sinclair entered the room with a confidence that instantly turned heads. She wore a gorgeous green gown that hugged her curves and her long black hair flowed down her back in soft waves. Every eye in the room was now on her and there were murmurs all around about it. “She's more stunning than ever,” said another guest, whispering his eyes fixed on Isabella. Isabella wove her way through the gathering surveilling in search of a familiar face. Coming back to New York after so long seemed very strange, but she had plotted to win a game. Rekindling how Alexander had hurt her feelings only served to make her decision stronger. When Isabella came close, the room came alive with a thrill. Everybody who was anybody in New York was at the gala which was happening at full steam. William stood there gazing at her across the room, until at last their eyes locked. The sight of her made Alexander stop breathing for some moments. He ran into her just a little while ago. She was looking so different now, standing in front of him full of self-assurance that was as attractive as it was intimidating. When Alexander reached her, he murmured, “Isabella, I never thought I'd meet you here.” You’re surprised Alexander?” Isabella responded in a smooth mocking tone,” It’s been a long time.” "Circumstances are quite different now," he said, as his eyes tried to read any intention she was planning.” "Definitely,” she replied with a mysterious smile. “But certain things never change. There was a complex tango of words that hinted at the unresolved issues they had between them but which weren’t said during their talk. The guests, who sensed the tension, watched with barely concealed curiosity. Alexander was overcome by clashing emotions. He still had unresolved feelings towards Isabella but at the same time feared that she was up to no good. He had to be careful as the Isabella he was facing was not the one he had known. A storm of emotions raged inside Isabella, too. Her desire to avenge was evident at the same time with the old feelings buried deep in her heart. She had forgotten about Alexander, but once he appeared on the stage, everything rushed back to her mind, which made her doubtful about her plans. Alexander was standing by the window of his penthouse that night, looking out over the city. He could not stop thinking about Isabella. However, he had to know her intentions even if it meant a more complicated situation on his part. In an upscale suite on the other side of the city, Isabella stared at herself in a mirror, using her image to remind herself of her resolve to move forward. Her resolve would not be shaken by the emotional upheaval caused by memories she had buried deep inside. While the city was asleep, a strange message came to Alexander. He opened the envelope and saw one line that made him feel icy around his spine: "Alexander Stone, you can't escape your past" Alexander read that puzzling message over again, his mind worked more. Somehow, he felt that Isabella was linked with this. Crushing the note in his hand made him more determined. Sentiments could have no place when she had some scheme in her mind; he had to be ready for anything. At the same time, Isabella was on the balcony in her suite with the fresh air of the night providing a stark difference against relative warmth in the ballroom while memories and plans crisscrossed through her mind as she gazed at the city. The shock in Alexander's eyes and the flickering old emotions he had tried to hide lay vividly before her on that night which turned out just as she wanted. However, there was still more ahead, much more. She spun around and re-entered the house, shutting its doors from the balcony behind her. It was only the start of the gala; her plans would take off tomorrow. The moment had been waited for by her for many years, and what might come was that she wouldn't allow any obstacle. ********* Alexander arrived at his office earlier than usual the following day. When he got there, he found his assistant, Rebecca, who had a stack of files waiting for him on his desk. “Good morning Mr. Stone, I would like to draw your attention to a few urgent matters," she said in a professional tone. Alexander nodded, the message from the night before lingering in his mind. `Thank you, Rebecca. Let us begin. The meetings and paperwork took up his day but no matter what time it was, Isabella lingered at the back of his mind, it nagged him as he desperately needed answers fast. After work, Alex went to a special club where he usually found some peace and maybe solutions to his problems. It was a dark room containing quiet discussions among the well-off and mighty people, a life that he handled comfortably. “Richard Lansing”, a familiar voice called out. Alexander Stone turned around to see another successful businessman and friend, Richard Lansing, walking up towards him. “Richard,” Alexander said as he shook his hand confidently. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” “We have news this morning, Alexander” “What news?” Alexander asks. “The news was that Isabella Sinclair had returned.” He raised his eyebrow." Also, it seems she has caused some commotion.” Richard added. With a sip of his drink, Alexander groaned. He said, “Do you have any idea what she’s plotting?” Richard lowered his voice as he drew nearer. "There have been whispers-- talk of a significant acquisition. She has been holding talks with some influential people and looks like she is eyeing a big move.” "Alexander’s jaw stiffened and he had to know more and know it fast. “Thanks for the alert, Richard. I will be watchful.” When Alexander departed from the club, his mind was already busy at work. For him to be able to figure out things more about Isabella, in such a way that she would not be able to strike first, he had to get closer to her. Isabella is in a very detailed discussion with her bestie, Claire who was at this time back at Isabella's suit. “Everything is going on as planned,” Isabella said, her voice calm and confident. “Even now he is all nerves, poor boy! — and soon he shall not know where he stands.” Claire nodded. “Do you think you’re up to this? It has been a while and emotions can make it all so complex!” Darkened by Isabela. “I waited too much for this, Clara. Nothing will stand in my way.” Alexander and Isabella both got ready for the fight, with night falling over Manhattan yet again. None of them was ready to give in, and the fight was bound to be intense. It was clear they had reached a point of no return and their world was on the brink of collapse. As they stood facing each other, love and vengeance intermingled terrifyingly.
