Eddie's death is announced on the news, as he is charged with the murder of a Law officer, John. The specifics are kept confidential and Sabrina's promoted to being personally liable for Mary.
'Ma'am', she says as she enters Leiland's office - 'El Durango's not the only Mexican drug dealer that flew into Detroit'.
Leiland's shocked at the number and the fact that they're still in town.
Peter, after having a good night rest, in the company of his loving wife, watches Grace's face turn sour as she hears the news of Eddie's death on the news in the kitchen. He's eyes glitter seeing as he has made good work of Eddie's betrayal.
'You used him, didn't you', she accused Peter. 'You had him all the way here to have him killed', she continue.
'Yeah... and f**k my wife', Peter replied, not regarding the fact that they were in the kitchen and the kids could well be eavesdropping on them.
Grace didn't reply. She set the kids up for school and eventually took them to school.
'Angie'
'Ray, how are you?'
'I'm good... I was wondering if you'd like to join me to an open mic tonight?', Ray asked shyly.
'I'd love to but i've got homework.... You too or have you done yours?' She replied.
'No.... Would you like me to join you with the home work then? We can go to the open mic after or skip it', Ray continued relentless.
'Alright.... My place though, 4 o' clock, don't be late'
'Cool... See you then', Ray sounded enthused.
Ray has been crushing on Angela Raven since the last session. Now they were in summer school and he felt like it was now or never?
He chose Now. Friday 7th August, 2011.
Leiland analyses the report she got from Sabrina earlier in the morning.
'There are 25 men, linked across the Mexican cartel that boarded a flight into Detroit a day after Eddie came in, none of them had left yet' - Eddie what did you do?
She puts out agents to monitor the 'tourists' and report back all activities.
Surprisingly at the end of the day, 19 of them are seen traveling back by flight to Mexico. That leaves six men in Detroit.
They pay a visit to Leiland.
It's 4pm, Ray knocks at Angela's house and waits, for an awkward two minutes. He knocks again, louder and Angela comes to get the door.
'Come in', she smiles as she welcomes him in.
'Nice place', Ray replies.
'About that homework.... ' she stops, goes over to sit right next to him and kisses him passionately.
Ray stops in between the smooching - 'Angie, are you okay?'
'Yes, why wouldn't I be?' She replied a bit aback.
'I'm into you, I just didn't know that you were into me like that', he replied honestly.
She kisses him again -'wanna do the homeworks?'
'No', Ray replies.
'Me too'. They continue smooching for sometime but things don't escalate and they start with the assignments at 4:30,finishing a few minutes before six o' clock.
Sabrina opens the door.
'Angie, you brought a guy over to Ma's house?.... You should know better', Sabrina cussed her out.
'Good evening... I was just leaving, we only had homework together', Ray tells Sabrina.
'I'll be out in a minute', Angie yells out as she passes a demeaning glare to her older sister for embarrassing her.
Angie escorts Ray outside.
'Thanks for coming', Angela strikes up a conversation as they walk.
'Angie, I will marry you someday', Ray says.
'I'll wait', Angie said with a smile on her face and faith in his words.
They hug and he pecks her on the cheek - 'I wrote my number on the last page of your workbook, just text me whenever' Ray tells her.
Okay, Sunshine. She leaves him and heads home.
She'd always called him sunshine. Maybe it was because of the way he looked with his brown eyes, on an orange evening. Ray was definitely something she wanted to eat and have and she was attracted to him being timid around her. The rumors of his family never deter her, though. She has a sister in Law enforcement but that's a more valid rumor to her than the McJones' family stories.
Mary leaves the Precinct.
She seems to have given up on the fake journalism career and with no recent supervision from Sabrina, her new direct boss, she wanders the Precinct lost in thought, mostly about Peter.
She'd been given the report about El Durango the day before and she was also allowed to review the report on 'the company he brought'. This, she did.
'What business would Peter have with the Mexicans? Most likely he's in danger, he was attacked at a bar.... It's not like killing him won't be beneficial to all of Detroit' She thought to herself and decided to fix an apology date with him. At one of his three bars in Detroit. Peter agrees to it.
It's past 8 and Leiland's home.
Two cars park in front of her house and she braces herself to welcome the Mexicans.
True and true, it was them. They walk up to her apartment and knock.
She opens the door, a gun in one hand.
'Good evening gentlemen, how can I help you?
'
'Are you Leiland Star?'
'Who's asking?'
'We're members of the Mexican cartel, El Diablo and wish to express our gratitude to you for killing our enemy Durango'.
'I see'
'We don't have any gifts, but we'll leave everything related to the warrant on your head at his Cartel, as we'll be taking over it'. Their leader, Gabriel tells her.
'Okay, your friend did kill one of mine, so... ', she said, making the Favour look unnecessary.
'Is there anyone you'd like us to handle for you, Leiland Star?' Gabriel offers.
She thinks for a while, trying to find a way to wipe out the goons in front of her and get them to make her job easier.
'There's a Man, Peter, he's Eddie's friend... I want you to kill him and also... Leave my city', Leiland demands.
'Alright.... Consider it a parting gift' Gabriel says and they leave.
But they're not the only ones playing catch-up;
Peter's at Temple bar, waiting for Mary. It's 9:15 in the evening.
Mary's on her way, walking to the bar, when she notices two jeep park right in front of the bar, in front of her. By the time she gets there, the men, heavily armed and not shy about it, whisk Peter into their car and zoom off. She orders a taxi immediately and follows them to a moinquired. 'Peter McJones.... I hear you're a man of affluence around here' Gabriel says as his men surround Peter who's been made to sit, all tied up to a chair.
Peter looks up and says nothing.
'Well... Someone demands your life. Consider me your angel of death', he says expecting some kind of fear in Peter but finds none.
Infuriated, he picks a knife and attempts to cut Peter's finger, when someone knocks on the door.
One of his men get the door and a bullet in the head. Peter pushes his seat backward to the ground with his body weight, smashing it. The men are too focused on the assasin to give him much mind, however he levels two of them with a pocket knife and stabs Gabriel, while the assasin shoots the other two men in the head.
Peter walks up to the assasin;
'Mary'
'Are you okay?', she replies him.
He nods - 'It's not over yet'.
At this point, he's holding Gabriel's gun after making a few incisions from his arm to his chest.
'Who wants me dead?'
'Go to hell' Gabriel replies.
Peter shoots him.
They are Mexican, they definitely know Eddie, they might be retaliating for killing him. Peter didn't pay much thought to it. He leaves with Mary.
'We both need a change of clothes' - he humors her. It's a typical week on the job.
'How did you know where to find me?' He inquired.
'I saw them leave with you and followed them here'
'You definitely came prepared... '
'We'd received word that some of Eddie's friends followed him here from Mexico and were yet to leave.... Was it you who called Eddie here?'.
He didn't reply.
'Of course it was.... you'll burn in the hell you raise Peter, it's only a matter of time'.
'I'd rather you all just leave me alone. I haven't been up to much anyway.... Thank you, you were right on time'. He said and didn't say anything until she took him to her home.
Back at the McJones house, they receive word of Peter's kidnap and Obi has about 50 boys cornering the street in search of anything. He keeps constant contact with them. They discover the motel with the jeep cars and eventually find the dead bodies. But still, Peter's missing.
Peter calls Obi however, just as they're about to sweep the streets again and even check on Mary.
'Obi'
'Peter!... What's happening?'
'I'm okay, come pick me up at Mary's place tomorrow at 8'.
He hangs up.
Mary is a beautiful Italian black American in her mid 30s, taking a shower in her one bedroom self con apartment.
Peter's weak but he peeks just fine and eventually joins her in the bathroom.
'What're you doing in here?'
'I wanted to join you, but if you don't want that.... I want you to know that i'll always be there for you' he says waving his arm around - 'I've still got my 5 fingers because of you', he humors her.
She smiles - Come scrub my back.
Peter doesn't hesitate.
They have a good bath, a few dic-tations in and out of the bathroom, a nap and it's morning.
Obi's on time and Peter leaves.
'I never want to lose you again, Mary', Peter says as he pecks her forehead like some father figure and leaves.
