Chapter 34An employee of Event Planners had placed a tape barrier across the main entrance to the park and a lone person manned the gate. At eleven o'clock the tape would be unclipped and pulled open to allow entry to the 'fun day'. There were other ways to get into the park and if someone was determined, they could insist on passing through this particular gate at any time, it was a public park after all, but people queued good-naturedly and waited patiently.
With Charlie zipping along on his scooter, Theo and Mandy arrived fifteen minutes before eleven and made their way to the head of the queue to speak to the official at the gate. Theo flashed his business card.
