Chapter 16Change made Stanley Jones nervous. The thought of no longer living at the Goodheart Home and no longer holding the position of head caretaker, made him very unsettled. He was used to having power over people, especially the boys who resided there. The staff loved Stanley. They thought he was a great man, a benevolent benefactor. He was always obliging and helpful, always smiling and cheerful. He selected his victims with great care, always choosing troubled boys, often ones who'd been abused by a parent in the past.
