Chapter Four

570 Words
John I woke up before anyone else in the tent so I went out to grab a shower and a quick swim in the ocean. It was still dark out so I started writing a letter to Catherine. ****************************************** Dear my heart, Catherine, we made it safely to the base. Unfortunately we were told that our location is undetermined because of how sensitive our mission is. Dale is getting along great with the other guys in our platoon. He is being a real leader showing the guys not to be afraid of what will come next. My love for you is as bright as the moon's light. It will always shine through the darkness guiding my way to you. Today we start training to fly our planes. My knowledge from what we've been told the boys from Trura and Winters will be on the same air craft. Only two of us will be flying the plane. There's a guy here that I think will be one of the pilots. He flew a corn duster just like myself but he's a city boy that's grandparents live north of the city on a farm. Keep us in your prayers, my live because we will need it. I have a feeling it will be a while before my soul can rest next to yours. Please give a hug and a kiss to my mom, let her know she can be proud of her son. Give Nicole reassurance that Dale will be alright, he sure is in his element over here. My love you would love it over here. The ocean is turquoise during the day and stays dark blue during the night. With a thousand stars overhead I know we will be looking at different ones but surely soon enough we will be looking at the moon together. I love you forever J.Allen P.S. I can not wait to be in your arms again just like in the cabin! Making sweet love to you, sinking into the sweet flesh of your porcelain skin. I love you my little wife. ****************************************** As I sign my letter and fill it into an envelope, I see Dale emerging from the tent. "Morning son, writing to our girls are you?" he asked as he sat down beside me still waking up. "To my girl yes but I did ask her to reassure Nicole that your safe and sound here." I said licking the flap to close it. "Good that's good just make sure that is your last one for a while. We have to let them live while we are over here, if we continue to let them in they will only worry each day and be miserable until we return." he said as he got up from the table to get breakfast. "okay." I said softly to myself. I couldn't not write Catherine.I don't want to lose her love, her longing for me. We've only been married for a short time, though since I can't be there to protect her from any other man, it must be in my letters! Even if I have to hide that I write from Dale, I don't want him thinking I am some soft sod wanting to go home just because I miss my wife.I got up to get myself a biscuit and some coffee then headed for a sand dune. My love will shortly be looking that that very moon.
