The Fallen Aquaria

Chapter Six

-Aquaria-

I hadn’t returned to a conscious state. But being a fallen I had special abilities. I got a few seconds to assess the situation to make sure it was safe I returned to my body. I couldn’t wake myself up fast enough when I sensed who had broken my fall. How he even dared to touch me when he was mated.  One arm was wrapped around me and the other held my head. He had his nose in my neck. My neck! Was he smelling me? This wolf is about to get neutered. 

Before I could open my eyes I felt the warmth of him underneath me. His breathing was slow and steady. I could tell he was trying to mimic my own. His fingertips began to run up and down my neck to my jawline. My own body was beginning to match his warmth. He sensed my arousal. A complete and utter betrayal to my own mind. I quickly snapped my eyes open. 

I felt his heart skip a beat as I vanished out of his arms. He flipped over just as I pinned my boot to his throat. 

His eyes were closed now and arms were wide open in surrender. The grin that came to his face made me c**k my head to the side. Is he serious right now? My eyes were emotionless in return. I was so occupied on my anger I didn’t hear Orion come in.

“ My curiosity got the best of me. How’s this going?”

Before I could say a word in response to Orion, Xadrian had grabbed my boot and flipped me Iike a damn pancake and pinned me underneath him.  His warm whisper into my ear sent shocks to my toes. “ Miss me?”

-Xadrian-

My mind was spinning. All I could smell was her intoxicating scent. Then it darkened into a primal rage of need when she felt me harden underneath her.  My wolf  had almost taken over. 

I have so many questions and the only one word keeps flooding my mind. Mine.

“ We will be down in a moment Orion” I said as I still stared into the most beautiful pair of green eyes. It was like being lost in a forest. Not any ordinary forest. The lushest green with moss covered rocks being kissed by the flowing stream of dark specks. My wolf was pacing again. It took everything in me to break eye contact and walk to the edge of the room to pour a drink.

Whiskey. Whiskey could help this all make sense. 

I heard the door shut as Orion left us alone again. I turned to find Aquaria. She was near my dresser and walking slowly to all the points in the room. That is when my mind so graciously reminded me the last time she was in here.

Marissa. Oh f**k.

-Aquaria-

He was nervous. Probably due to the fact that his mate took off at the sight of me. She knew my name. So that was another question I needed answers to.  As I got closer to the bed the more and more he kept shaking the ice in his glass. I tore off my jacket and jumped dead in the center of it. I looked straight to the ceiling for a few moments.  Memories begin to flood my emotions again. I should have stayed at the conclave for a few weeks to suppress all of this.

- FLASH BACK - 

I was wrapped in the softest embrace. Xadrian was melted around me snoring loudly. I felt so much peace listening to our heartbeats sync into a perfect melody. I rubbed at his temples to wake his sleepy eyes. I felt so much pull to him and I know he felt the same to me.  I started to recite the first words of the fated process. If he repeated them back to me we would be in debt to another for  an eternity and complete a fated mate ceremony.

“in hac vita et in proxima”  in this life and the next

I only got out two words before his hand covered my mouth.  “ Don’t ruin this Aquaria, I will not be mated; you know this”

-CURRENT TIME-

The memory was so vivid. Like it was happening now, not twenty years ago. I swallowed back the tears that threatened to spill over my eyelashes. This won’t be payback. It will be closure so I can live my life.  I arched my back and slid up the bed. I turned to Xadrian who was fighting with himself so hard. His leg was also now bouncing to match the ice in his glass.

“I returned for one reason” I said I glanced out the open balcony door. Is the red head hiding out there I thought to my self.

-Xadrian-

The balcony doors were banging loudly. I avoided eye contact with Aquaria as I walked and snapped them shut. I needed to explain Marissa and quickly.  I am sure Aquaria saw some of her belongings on the chair.  My wolf was clawing at my insides and whining to avoid him taking over in anger I needed to give Aquaria some attention.  I walked to the foot of the bed.  “ What is the reason for your return?”

Silence. What felt like days but my watch assured me had been merely minutes. Absolute silence. I was growing quickly annoyed when he pulled me on top of her in one big fall. The slap of our bodies together made me growl. The moan that escaped her perfectly round lips ended any logical thought at the time. My d**k hardened to fast I grabbed at my pants to adjust. Her skin felt like burning sparks of light on the coldest day.  I inhaled her neck taking in waves of strawberries, pears, and vanilla.  Then there it was again. She was aroused. Is she toying with my mind. Was I the reason she came back? I looked to her eyes for any kind of answer.

She rubbed her body against me. While looking me in the eye she reached for my zipper. I felt like my brain was going to explode. Once she had her hand wrapped around me I heard her breathe become jagged. Words were flowing to me. MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE.

And her hands left my body in an instant. She vanished to the bedside before I could finish.

The look of shock on her face as tears flooded from her eyes.

“ XADRIAN you are a disgrace to your bloodline. You can not be fated. Yet you already have a mate and I am here not even a full day and you are lying. Those words coming out of your mouth are sacred. You stole my starsoul to bring me here to rub this all in my face, are you really that bitter of me leaving after twenty years??? WE ARE DONE REMEMBER??” Aquaria stormed out of the room and slammed the door so hard a window broke.

MATED? STOLEN STARSOUL?

I was in shock from the instant cockblock of  information that was just thrown in my face. I had to pull myself together and see what the hell was going on. Did I fall to another universe??
