ME!! --- – “Marked by a Monster” The air inside the room changed instantly. Not just tense. Not just heavy. But dangerous—like breathing itself had become a risk. Michelle stood frozen behind Lian, her hands trembling, eyes locked on the man in front of her. Fuan. He didn’t rush. He didn’t need to. His presence alone forced silence into everything. “You really thought,” Fuan said slowly, voice calm but sharp underneath, “you could disappear from me?” Michelle shook her head slightly. “I didn’t belong to you
” she whispered. That made him pause. Then—he smiled. Small. Cold. “You were chosen,” he corrected. “That makes you mine.” Lian stepped forward immediately. “Touch her and this becomes a war you won’t control.” Fuan’s eyes shifted to him. Slowly. Almost amused. “And you are
?” Lian didn’t blink. “The one standing between you and a mistake.” Silence cracked through the room. Then— A sound downstairs. Footsteps. Controlled. Heavy. Alexander was coming. Fuan noticed it too. His smile faded slightly. “Ah
” he murmured. “So the king finally heard me enter his house.” Michelle’s breath caught. “King
?” she whispered. Lian didn’t answer her. Because now it was too late for explanations. Fuan took another step forward. Closer to Michelle. Slow. Intentional. Lian moved to block again— But Fuan’s hand shot out faster. Not to attack. Not to grab. Just to stop him. And in that moment— The air snapped. A silent warning passed between the two men. Ruthless. Recognizing ruthless. Then Fuan looked at Michelle again. “You don’t understand what you’ve done,” he said softly. Michelle shook her head. “I didn’t do anything—” “Yes, you did.” He reached into his coat slowly. Lian tensed instantly. “Don’t.” Fuan ignored him. And pulled out a small black object. Not a weapon. A seal. Dark metal. Marked with a symbol Michelle didn’t recognize—but her body reacted to it instantly. Fear. Memory. Pain she didn’t even know she had. “What is that
” she whispered. Fuan stepped closer now—too close. Lian moved—but Fuan raised his hand slightly. A warning. “Stay where you are,” Fuan said calmly. Then he looked at Michelle. “This is not love.” A pause. “This is ownership.” Before she could move— He pressed the mark gently against the back of her wrist. A sharp sting. Michelle gasped—but there was no violence in the movement. No intimacy. Just claim. Just branding. Just war. Lian’s eyes darkened instantly. “You bastard—” But Fuan already stepped back. The mark remained. Black. Faintly glowing. Michelle stared at it in shock. “What did you do to me
?” Fuan’s voice dropped lower. “I made sure no one else forgets who you belong to.” Then— A new sound. Slow footsteps outside the door. Heavy. Controlled. Alexander had arrived. Fuan finally turned slightly toward the door. A faint smile returned. “Perfect timing.” Lian stood rigid now, eyes locked on Fuan. Michelle backed up slowly, holding her wrist like it burned. And then— The door opened. Alexander stepped in. The room went still again. Two enemies. Both ruthless. Both unshaken. Both ready to destroy everything for control. Alexander’s eyes landed first on Michelle. Then on the mark. Something inside him darkened. Cold. Dangerous. “
You touched what’s mine,” Alexander said quietly. Fuan smiled. “No,” he replied. “I claimed what you were about to lose.” Silence broke like glass. And for the first time— Michelle understood clearly. She wasn’t just caught between two men. She was standing between two monsters
And neither of them planned to lose. --- T.B.C
