“We love you, Kreon,” Marquise declared. “I love… I love y’all, too,” his voice crackled as he delivered his response and embraced them tighter. Later that night Kreon was awakened from his sleep by Odette’s neighbor’s barking ass dog. He grabbed his .38 and peeked out of the backdoor. He saw their chained-up Pit Bull barking at a homeless man who was rummaging through their black garbage can for recyclables. Seeing this, Kreon decided to give him the few empty plastic bottles that were sitting on the floor beside the trash can on the back porch.
